Our oline has not been great and we’ve abandoned the run several times
Good RB’s need holes or they aren’t good

Pretty much, this Cowboys team started to mail in their performances over two weeks ago. Just blame it on the liquor store guy.

Rock on!
I'm a hypocrite!

I feel more famous now.

Is this how it works?

Should I put another pic on this site?
Maybe I should wear a thong...

Fair enough.
I bet their tin roofs aren't rusted and there's no glitter on their mattresses.

Wait. I bet their roofs are more rusted and there's more glitter on their mattresses!

We couldn’t wait to run him out of town but now his words are gospel. Typical fans.

Just saw a video which i i struggled to watch all the way through because of Skip and Shannon.

But watched because Scandrick doesnt sugarcoat the team, but doesnt try and be cute with his responses either.

Skip and Shannon were there as usually trying to out cliche eachother about Jerrys meddling and pep talks and it switched to Scandrick. The look he had was like he was looking at two idiots, and just said Jerry doesnt give pep talks.

Then they start talking about the players and their play. And again Scandricks just looking at both of them and when it switches to him he says, Marinelli is a guy who runs a strict scheme, fundamentals ect. Then just says this isnt Marinelli's scheme, its Richards scheme. Says Theres a reason Carroll got rid of him. Said he is a great Db coach and repeats theres a reason he isnt coaching in seattle.

Then again skip and shannon go off on eachother and it resorts to talking about the offense. Skip starts talking about Elliot and starts talking about all the cliches this forum talks about. The sticking point, Elliot isnt going nowhere with the ball. Scandrick chimes in and says, how is elliot supposed to get going when there are 2-3 guys on him as he gets to the LOS. How is he supposed to get off when youre running the same plays every week. No changes no adjustments.

This is coming from a guy who was on the team just a couple yrs ago.
I guess me and Scandrick are kindred spirits.

A football player vs talking heads. Always listen to the recently retired football player.

You need know no more.
We'd be laughing our butts off in a bar right now, should the conflagration have existed.

Richard might really be the guy that gets RM fired or “retired”. I can live with the regression on D if that’s the case. Imagine having a schematic advantage on defense AND offense, how good could this team be?

That’s why the JJ is too involved thing doesn’t resonate with me all the way. I acknowledge the harm it may cause, but a real coaching staff on both sides of the ball and this team achieves a lot more than the JG era. Even with Jones as the owner/GM he is

If Richard is more involved and changing the scheme that could explain why they are so much worse this year.

I have been blaming Marinelli, but at the same time we know his scheme was mostly good enough last year. So which is it, have teams simply adjusted to Marinellis scheme or is Richards influence killing the defense?

Im not defending any of our coaches, but this is a somewhat logical explanation for our drop off. Id love to hear from someone who studies the Xs and Os like @xwalker. How accurate is this take?

The defense was not competitive in the Rams playoff game.

Opponents are just copying the Rams and the Cowboys don't know how to defend it.

Richard is trying to implement work-arounds but in-season changes don't work well if too far from the base scheme.

Heath, CB Brown and DT A.Woods being out is a big problem.

CB Lewis can't get off blocks by WRs.

SS Thompson can't tackle.

DT Woods is really more of a backup type DT which means Covington is a backup-backup.

Ok, so we all agree. Zeke was never that good he simply had a GREAT Oline that was making him look that good.

Paying a back, and especially Zeke was a monster mistake.

Check and check!!!!

Emmitt would not have done much without a good OLine...

No doubt scando's disgruntled, but spot on with his criticism.

Dallas scheme is whats the issue with the OL. Schlereth talked about this a few weeks ago. Said how do you have the best set of blockers in the NFL the biggest guys in the league on your OL and youre running a zone blocking scheme. He said it with disgust.

Because Colombo isn't ready to be the OL coach. But he is.

saw that interview.
very interesting that he said...almost immediately that this isn't Marinelli's scheme but Richards.
seems to me our run defense and tacklin' especially have gotten worse the more Richard has taken over.

The Rams exposed the scheme. Richard has been trying bandaides but it has not worked.

He played for Marinelli and im sure he recognizes the difference in schemes. And hes 100% right on this and especially about Richard. Seattle was bad when he took over as DC
The DL scheme vs the Rams in the playoff game was all Marinelli...

There is a reason why Richard was let go to land in Dallas. He still doesn't have a secondary that goes beyond convenience in the tackling arena.
