No reason for us to not fire the ST coach and get another kicker weeks ago. Got to be better out there or within the staff. Likely a assistant on ST staff that stands there shaking his head every day thinking wth is this guy doing.I would've fired the entire special teams coaching staff weeks ago and just let the guys figure it out.
Seriously, they can't do much worse on that front.

Drops can be relative. Thanks, this give me an opportunity to opine on a few things that have bugged me for a while.
I never understood the Cowboys infatuation with Chris Jones. He is a lousy punter who seems to have a knack for mis-kicking in the worst situations. Punters are an important weapon because they can flip field position. Its clear Garrett does not believe in playing the field position game because he does dumb stuff like attempting 57 yard FGs in the first quarter. Its not the top priority, but its a little detail that cannot be overlooked.
Dropped passes and missed tackles are like the same thing. In one case you give up yards, in the other you don't get yards you should. But both have plagued the Cowboys for years. So who are the culprits? I like Gallup a lot, but he drops a lot of passes and those are never in good situations. Here are the individual Cowboys stats, there are no surprises:
(targets - receptions - drops - attempts/drop)
Gallup 92 - 55 - 8 - 11.5
Cobb 68 - 44 - 6 - 11.3
Witten 71 - 53 - 4 - 17.75
Cooper 100 - 70 - 4 - 25
Elliott 55 - 41 - 3 - 18
Jarwin 36 - 28 - 1 - 36
Pollard 16 - 12 - 1 - 16
D. Smith 9 - 5 - 0 - *
Austin 19 - 10 - 0 - *
Wilson 8 - 5 - 0 - *
Bryant 1 - 1 - 0 - *
Schultz 1 - 1 - 0 - *
Olawale 2 - 0 - 0 - *
These are stats from 2015 - 2019 that IMO define the Garrett era of coaching.
