Part of me wonders if 77 year-old Jerry might just be willing to hedge a bit more on control knowing this could be the last HC hiring he might ever make before heading to parts unknown.

For all of Jerry's warts (and there are many), I don't think his desire to bring championships to this organization should be questioned; it's just his approach to making it happen that's the core issue.

He went 1-15 with a garbage roster, Jimmy would have locked up this division weeks ago with this roster.
