If you want to look for hope that the owner's hand might be forced with a "credible" HC, read the link.

If the Cowboys are not the TV darling as they've been, that will get a reaction from this owner only second to a drop in revenue. It is important to him that they are #1 in both.

The other interesting ratings are locally where the Cowboys can't pull a 33 share when playing the Patriots. That means 67%+ of the viewers in the DFW prefer not to watch the Cowboys against the defending SB champ.

There is another movement on in the DFW market with the Mavericks and their young superstar, Luka Doncic, that may get the owner's attention. He will not be happy taking a backseat to Cuban and his team and this kid is for real. And don't think Cuban isn't aware of the opportunity.

The best quote I've seen from anyone regarding DFW as a sports town was when Aikman was asked if Dallas was a good sports town. His reply was "Dallas is a good winner's town".

You want a fire under this owner's butt, let him be second behind Cuban.

Watch out for the Rangers passing the Cowboys. They're a young upcoming team that could be in the playoff mix next year.

LOL. The rangers can barely get an audience here.

as far as the mavs go they had an all time player who won a championship and they still didn't come close to taking the market from the cowboys.

People are turned off this year by the way they have lost. Thats it. People hate Jerry and Garrett.

lol. The Rangers screwed up when they got rid of Nolan Ryan and his son, Reid. Then getting rid of Washington. Etc.

...so instead of 1,000,000 watching Dallas it will be 1,990,999. That's like a couple of cents in yer pocket. Or Jerry's pocket..;)..

Ten years of Garrett has done this, dont let anybody tell you otherwise.....

It goes further back. There is an entire generation of football fans who have never seen the Cowboys play in a Super Bowl.

The Dallas Cowboys fan base is aging, starting to die off. If you're 25 years old the Cowboys aren't anything special.

DFW area always has been and always will be Dallas Cowboys 1st.

Even as the ratings may have dipped, but win, and the ratings will go up.
I wouldn't be surprised if today's game will be the top watched game.

What happens when Dallas is down, if another team is up, fans always think of a decline. Such as when the Rangers were going to the WS, Cowboys were down, because Romo was injured, and were losing. So ratings were up for the Rangers and down for the Cowboys.

Agree on the Ryans, but Washington cost them the WS. He should have brought in. a different P in relief, can't remember the names, but he had a great P that was a starter, had 3 days rest. So you bring him in to close out the game. And not a reliever that gives up runs.

Feliz cost them the other WS, he should have sold out and caught the ball, run into the wall. So what if he gets injured, you have all off season to recover.

Rangers need to get rid of their GM Daniels. He is horrible.

While it’s encouraging fan apathy is growing in the Metroplex TV viewership isn’t a big impact because of the equal TV revenue.

If we really want to get Jerry’s attention is empty seats or non sellouts which would result in local blackouts as we had in late80’s. Cowboys haven’t had a local blackout since Dec 1990.

You think daniels is horrible? Based on what? Getting rid of the ryans was the right thing to do.

Not about the revenue, it's all ego. Who do you think he gives credit to for the #1 ratings and revenue NFL team? The record?

How are the ratings determined? I've never been surveyed.

What have they done since the Ryans have been gone. Trades away players to bring in Prince Fielder that rarely played. Pays the Philles millions just to take Young, another good player, I think it was Young. All the good prospects and players he gets rid of.

Anyway not the place for baseball. LOL.
I want the Rangers to do well, but still a Reds fan.

Great post coach.
The truth is, Jerry’s Cowboys have been in last place in accomplishments compared to other 3 major sports teams in Big D since the Cowboys last SB:
  • The Dallas Stars Hockey team won the Stanley Cup in 1999, then won the Western Conference again in 2000 before losing in the Stanley Cup Final.
  • The NBA Dallas Mavericks have won a championship in 2011, and previously in 2006 won the Western conference before losing in the NBA finals.
  • The Texas Rangers won back to back American League championships in 2010 and 2011 although they lost the World Series both times.
So the 3 other major sports teams in Dallas have won two world championships and six conference championships...the Cowboys have 3 wild card games.
