I hope not. If we are going after an OC to make HC, do after the Ravens OC.

I’m with you. Added that the offense has been the bad part in NE this year. But Jerry wants that Patriot dynasty.

With no WRs, TEs and very little running game, the NE Pats have still managed to outscore the Cowboys this season, 396 to 387

He made Kyle Orton look like a really good player in Denver as well.

He wouldn't be my first choice but he knows offense.

I have said this for years .. everyone wants Jerry to fire the head coach, but everyone forgets Jerry's the one who picked him in the first place, so the next one may not be the one that most people want.
Yep, Jerry who said 6 weeks ago the JG gives us the best chance to reach the playoffs...I mean I really believe this.

I have had no faith in Garrett for many years, I also have no faith Jerry will make a good hire.

True, but at least there is a small chance he brings in someone good.

There is no chance of this team ever winning with JG in charge.

Listening to Jerry talk over the course of the season, combined with other reports here’s how I see McDaniels as the top person on Jerry’s list

1) During the lead up to the first Eagles game Jerry talked about how it was important this offense had maximum flexibility and either be able to throw it 50 times or run it 50 times. That’s the staple for what McDaniels shape shifting has done with NE

2) Jerry went almost overboard when praising the NE coaches after our game. How they were in great position to succeed.

3) He said that college coaches take time to get up to speed on the NFL game whereas current NFL coaches have a feel for it. This is in line with Jerry’s mantra of urgency over the last 2 years ever since Bob McNair passed away. Jerry and Bob were close and Jerry seems to not want to have any more “development years”.

Now will he be able to get McDaniels? I doubt it. I think he’s fine staying in NE until Belichick retires. For those who think Jerry is referring to Belichick himself, what does he gain by giving up where he has all control and 6 sure wins a year in the AFC East to come down here? Yes TB12 May retire but why wouldn’t he retire with him?

That's a pretty big jump to conclude Jerry thinks highly of McDaniels. McDaniels as a HC was a complete disaster. It's far more likely Jerry hires a defensive guy and keeps the offensive staff together so Dak doesn't learn a new system. Just like in the past he will cut the legs of his new HC.

Signs point to no one at this point. Eagles will lose next game. We win vs the Commanders at home. We’re backing into the playoffs. It’s happening.

Garrett will still be gone after this season. But we have no clue as far as HC and assistants.

One major reason he might....everyone always says is it BB makes TB12 or TB12 makes BB...if BB has the ego we all think he does, he has something to prove by winning without TB12 for his legacy.

Yes, I'm starting to realize--with people mentioning Norv or Jeff Fisher as a possible replacement--that we can in fact do worse than Garrett.
Those names haven't been mentioned as a possibility outside CZ.

Technically, I saw these two names posted by a poster who said they were floated by Matt Mosley, who is definitely not a part of this board,

WONDER if the Notre Dame HC(Brian Kelly) would give the NFL A GO?

If it does happen to be Josh since Jerry favors someone with NFL experience it might workout well for Kellen and Dak since he's worked under belichick for awhile the offense should be alright.

We need an in your face DC to coach up in your face players on defense. We also need an aggressive playmaking special teams coach.

Not really. He's better than what we have and I think he's learned from his mistakes. Not my first choice, but I'd be good with it.

Its really pointless in Dallas considering the GM & owner but in a normal situation, I would interview the hell out of him to try and ascertain what he feels like he can take with him from his coaching stop after being employed by the Patriots for 15+ years. Surely a lot of good stuff has rubbed off on him from being around Brady/Belichick, its no guarantee but I'd definitely give him a strong interview

I have never in my life seen a forum members opinion reach so much in my life.... Not a chance a failed Mcdaniels coaches here, Jerry would be crucified...

Josh McDaniels is in NE for a reason and it is not to be Jerry's puppet. Josh McDaniels had total control in Denver and he failed. He has been under Bill with total control. He is not coming to Dallas unless he has....TOTAL CONTROL which Jerry will only give to a headliner like Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells to keep the money rolling in.

He better get Urban Meyer in and soon. I already posted the number of college to NFL success there has been starting with Bill Walsh...to Jim Harbaugh.

Because he’s said so when referring to death of other owners recently. He said he doesn’t have time to have a bad time. He needs to win fast.

Well, his actions indicate he has all the time in the world to wait.
