The only thing....I mean the only thing that will work here is what worked in the early 90s. Hire a strong HC in charge of the staff, players and locker room. That’s the only formula that has ever worked with Jerry.

Jerry is a softie and an eternal optimist. Jimmy was a a hard *** with a worst case scenario preparation plan. They balanced each other out very well. IfJerry hires another young assistant or anyone else who will just let him play football big shot in every area of the team untethered, it won’t matter if Vince Lombardi or Tom Landry are raised from the dead to coach this team, it will never work. How much more evidence is needed to see that Jerry is THE problem?

And I'd like to ride a flying unicorn over the moon, but it's not gonna happen.

This is why I'm leaning hard toward Mike McCarthy or even Mike Shanahan. A coach who knows discipline, hard work, the dedication required EVERY WEEK to make the big dance. Give them the key for 3 years over the entire football operation, including the draft and get out of his way.

Go outside the family and actually empower the head coach. Don't just appoint one who has to run everything through Jerry.

That doesn't work and won't work. How many decades of proof do we need?

Then the coaches that were here like the Sean peytons and mike summers weren’t considered for big time jobs.... which was dumb.

that’s why Jerry our Moore as O coordinator. He desperately wants him to become the next Sean Peyton so he can say “he found him”

What I been preaching and what is needed BUT that is why he ran off Tuna because he could not wait to get back in the spotlight that the tuna was taken from him. He basically told him, "thanks for leading this yacht from the stormy turbulent conditions but now we are back on safe waters will take it from here".

The Steelers are run like a family business. They have had three HC’s in all that time.
If you've had sustained success (ne pitts) then you can run it like a family business. If you've had sustained failure then you probably need to do something different.
