Bill Belichick - Why Not?

With the latest revelation regarding Jerry not worried about other teams quickly moving forward on interviews [and the Cowboys not making any moves yet], and Jerry also saying other teams can interview any or all the names out there and he doesn't care one bit... I think it truly could be Bill Belichick that Jerry's targeting - post playoffs of course. And honestly I could see the Patriots losing to the Titans this weekend if the Titans get Derrick Henry and the ground game going. Bill is THE biggest name possible. He would instantly elevate this team on his coaching alone. He'd have most of the control he wants. And a new challenge with THE premier team/brand in the entire NFL. Add to the fact there has been lots of speculation about Tom Brady leaving the Patriots after this season - why not try and see what you could do with a solid foundation of Dak, Zeke and a solid o-line? Finally - hasn't the Patriots' post Bill Belichick succession plan been Josh McDaniels all along? We get Bill, Patriots keep Josh McDaniels, and everyone's happy.

Ive told a few people bout this one but they laugh and say he’s resigning but I mean it’s worth the try.

Read an media article out of New England about 3 weeks ago discussing this scenario. The going rate for his services per the reporter would be 3 1st round picks!

Word on the street has always been that there are two jobs Belichick would ever be interested in... the one he has, and the Giants.

For what it matters.

And/but no, I don't think Belichick would be attracted to DAL. He has nothing to prove, and it's not like his heart is in Texas.

Bill Belichick and Jerry Jones would clash more than a roach when sprayed with Raid. Not a good combo. Jerry would drive the unemotional Bill Belichick to insanity....

To be clear where I stand... I'm not all Bill Belichick or nothing. He would absolutely, without a doubt be the best hire - but I'm also high on people like Roman, Meyer, Rhule and I wouldn't be mad at Campbell either due to the Sean Payton connection and success in New Orleans - but Belichick guarantees success.

Belichick guarantees success.

I get what you're saying, I think... he's the most sure thing.

But Vince Lombardi, coach of the Washington Commanders, I'm sure would confess from his grave that no one is guaranteed success.

I think you want to find that guy who is capable but who hasn't yet been in a position to succeed, and is hungry... starving, really... to prove himself in the NFL... as one might recall Jimmy Johnson was.

Don’t think it will cost any picks because I believe he is on a year to year contract. I could be wrong but I think I read it somewhere.
