What exatly needs to be done? I keep hearing people say Garrett cant bench players and I think thats BS. Jerry loves Jason like a son yet wont let him bench a player? that makes no sense. I think yall give Jerry way too much credit. Garrett couldve done alot of things, he just didnt. Is Jerry making Jason play Witten so much? Cmon now.

Word is the Vikings really like their OC Stefanski, and rumors are if the Vikings lose to the Saints Zimmer could very well be out and Stefanski the next HC.

No secret that Zimmer was really liked by Jerry he just wasnt a guy for Parcells. I think he would be a name to watch if he is ousted in Minnesota.

I don't buy that Garrett could have done alot of things. Jerry has always kept Garrett on a tight leash. Are you telling me that Garrett could have fired any of the coaches that Jerry forced on him? Or that Garrett loved watching Jerry hold press conferences to tell the media what players were going to play? Could Garrett get rid of TO, Gregory or Taco without consulting Jerry? Not a chance. Garrett was a yes man and a puppet. Truth is, there's not one person here that will ever know what Garrett might have been and it's all because of Jerry.

Do you really need to ask what needs to be done? Jerry needs to hire his HC and leave him alone. Not that complicated...

For anyone still complaining about Zimmer's defense he ran when he was here, he doesn't run the same defense anymore. Once he got to Cincy, he learned from Marv Lewis and his defense evolved. For one thing, he blitzes much more than he did here. And his blitz aren't just vanilla type either. He is known for his double A gap blitzes. He'll typically have 2 LBs threatening the 2 A gaps and a FS and a Nickle Corner lined up on the LOS. Not all will blitz and some will drop back but that's what it makes it hard on the offense. The offense don't know who is coming out of the four.

That's one thing Zimmer is different from JG. He isn't stubborn and stuck in one's ways. He was willing to change when Parcells wanted go to a 3-4. Zim is willing to adapt and evolve. I also heard he still talks to Parcells every week.

He didn't blitz alot here because Parcells would let him after that hot read to the TE went 70 yards for a TD vs Chicago!

At least Zimmer finally won a playoff game as coach and/or DC a couple of years ago. Will see if he is one and done again in a few days.

Id rather have Garrett than Zimmer. He’s 64. He only has a few years left.

He would be on top of my list if available, which he isn't. Cannot see the Vikings letting him go after a 10-6 season. When you look at the Vikings roster, it's quite similar to the Cowboys, he would be an ideal fit.

I doubt it as well. However, next year is the last in his contract. I don't believe it's common practice, regardless of what Jerry did to Jason, to have a lame duck head coach. So if they lose, it could be either extend him (which won't be popular), lame duck him (which is bad for the team), or possibly fire him and promote someone else. I think it makes some sense, tbh

Depending on who is running the offense, Zimmer works for me. There is no denying his ability to call a defense. It won't be anymore of this passive, reactive BS either. He's aggressive.

I feel like Zimmer is the defensive equivalent of Garrett, a guy who has regularly had one of the most talented rosters in the league and done nothing with it.
