Goose suggested going after a defensive minded HC. He still believes that a team needs a good defense to win championships or at least one that can create turnovers. He really liked Ron Rivera. Also mentioned that the Cowboys should look at Jack Del Rio.

Also suggested that if Jerry is really serious about winning another SB title he should reach out to Nick Saban or Sean Payton to find out if there's any interest.

One thing is for certain... the bar has been raised in the NFC East with Rivera in Washington, Pederson in Philadelphia, and the front runners for the Giants HC job to be Matt Rhule, Daniels of NE, or McCarthy.

And we sit and wait so we don't hurt Garrett's feelings. Brilliant!

Washington is getting Rivera and word or rumor is that Rivera is hiring Jack Del Rio to be on his staff.

Goose has consistently banged the drum for a more defensive-minded approach, not only here but for just about every NFL job coming open. He's just doubling down on that.

We hire Del Rio I'm done.

He's proven he's not a quality head coach.

This is the exact reason the Rooney Rule exists--to keep teams from recycling the same names over and over and over and not giving others a chance.

Del Rio and Rivera would both be mistakes, but of course he should reach out to Saban. Not sure how he can reach out to Sean Payton and it seems like that was attempted when he was available and he passed.

We need a top NCAA coach.

I would be happy with Saban, Riley, Stoops, Meyer, or Swiney.

I think going with a coordinator who is totally unproven would be a mistake at this point in the franchise's history.

The only two coaches that the Cowboys have hired with no HC experience have been complete failures: Campo and Garrett.
