Fisher has tweeted multiple times this morning alluding to the Cowboys next coach being somebody the Joneses are comfortable with. Just so happens this comes out after Lombardi tweets that the search is over. Just as Fish mentioned in one of his tweets, Jerry isn't going the inspiring route with the next head coach, he's going with the comfortable route.

This is absolutely the worst case scenario and it is exactly what many of us on here not only feared but expected. If this is true, it's beyond unfortunate. Changing one puppet for another. I can't say that I am surprised, I didn't expect anything different.

My guess McCarthy. Jerry respects a coach that has consistently beat the Cowboys.

Define "comfortable with". Are we talking about "comfortable" in the sense Jerry looking for a guy Jerry can enjoy having a drink with, or in the sense that he is looking for a guy he is "comfortable" is the right man to lead the team?

I don't think this is the answer to who Jerry will pick. Fisher likes MM. I believe at least, so he would probably be more positive about him being the next coach. Additionally, there is no comfortability w MM, at least, none that I know of.

Essentially what is happening is that like so many of the fans and media this past summer insisted, this is a really talented team. So Jerry wants someone that can show up and start winning right away in september.

This tells me they are going long term on Dak and Cooper. I am against this and wish they would tear it down and rebuild with Matt Rhule.

The general complaint here all year has been the coach is not good enough and doesn't get enough out of the players...so what fisher is incorrectly labeling comfortable is really Jerry just testing that statement. A better coach should get better results with this team.

So jerry is doing what fans want and complained about for years, he is hiring a ready made nfl coach with a history of success.

Sean Payton would be an extremely comfortable hire.

But, yeah, it accurate, comfortable is almost certainly a really bad sign.

Jerry hiring someone that he's comfortable with? Stunning.

That's also code for Jerry is going with someone who will allow him to continue to meddle with the staff, such as who the HC hires and fires as assistants, etc.

That also probably means they reached out to someone like a Rhule or Riley who said if they hire him, Jerry has to stay out of his way and let him coach. Jerry said that won't work and Rhule or Riley then hung up on him.

Fisher is tweeting about Tony Dungy

Hahahahahahaha..if Jerry hires Dungy, he will screw this up even more than I imagined

McCarthy is similar to Garrett,a guy who lost his play calling duties because he sucked at it.

Actually, no. Red stopped calling plays because it was believed it would help him be a better time manager.

In one of the videos that were posted yesterday about Mike McCarthy, he talked about when things got tough in GB that Marvin Lewis reached out to him.

It makes me think those guys have built a connection and Lewis is the guy McCarthy wants as his DC.

I’m ok with McCarthy. Let’s wait to see his staff before we doom and gloom it

I'm pretty sure it's not MM

Edit^**

McCarthy was on the list fish didn't like

Not the one he did like...I got that mixed up

i think you are interpreting the term comfortable incorrectly. I think the comfort is meant in that the players are here and he needs a coach who can win right away because he has a history of doing that. Jerry is essentially doing what the fans asked, just get someone to coach this super talented (its not) team because garrett was the problem.

There is no Jerry Jones with Green Bay to force McCarthy to give up his play calling duties. McCarthy made the change, and then took back play calling duties later in the season.

“Comfortable” definition in relationship to Jerry can be translated simply: Whoever lets Jerry continue to meddle. It’s that simple.

if that's the coach, then he should be interviewing pretty much anyone who hasn't coached the Commanders the past few years.
