I've got to admit that McCarthy intrigued me after l read the story about him studying teams during his time off and adjusting his own coaching strategies. If Jones will let this guy do his job, he's a solid coach. Let's wait to see what other coaches he brings in before passing judgement...

Man Lincoln Riley really put on some weight, but I’m glad we hired him.

Kellen Moore will tell the tale. If he's retained and still calling plays I'll wonder just how much control McCarthy has.

We cant know McCarthy's opinion of KM. We watched the games and know our #1 offense wasn't consistent and wilted when it counted. Still though our final rankings is a feather in KMs cap and it wouldn't suprise me if people around the league think he has a bright future.

If I was McCarthy and wanted a smooth transition I would keep KM with the understanding I am going to be adding and subtracting from the current offense. No huge offensive overhauls at one time. We dont have 3 years to wait for players to master a new scheme.

A question I think will be answered if he is retained is how much did Garretts influence hurt KM and the offense. Many feel Garrett handcuffed KM after week 3.

McCarthy's passion is as an offensive play caller. I can't see him choosing to let anyone, let alone an inexperienced guy like Moore, call the plays for him.

Mike did win 13 games w Favre. You clowns never mention this. Rodgers! Rodgers! Rodgers!

Rodgers is the one who choked in the second half @ Seattle, not Mike McCarthy

Look on the bright side:

The Upshot is that there is no coach in place that Jerry is emotionally attached to now. If this doesn't work out, its easier now to make a change down the road.

There is so much that people don't know about McCarthy and his time away from the game.

When you watch the video about it, prepare for chills. This guys is ready.
I know it! I agree. I watched the video, and I was upset it ended so soon; I wanted more lol.

The guy just seems so real. Unlike the robot we’ve had here for a decade. And the fact he’s willing to compromise in his football beliefs and CHANGE, is very refreshing!

I'm just not a fan of Haslett, and he also has been out oft he league for so very long. I think the new age of offense would eat him alive like a Walking Dead zombie.
I don't prefer guys like that . I really hope it's not him, think we'd struggle under Haslett. That's like goin back to another version McCarthy's struggling days of DC Dom Capers.

@phildadon86 pointed out that Haslett wasnt being considered the position so that should ease some concern there. I hope we bring in someone that can turn this defense around. It was painful watching this defense struggle to create turnovers all season long.

He seems more accountable than that other clown. I wonder if Cobb will stick around?

I think Haslett would be more of an LB coach which is a big upgrade over Ben Bloom.

I can't help but wonder if Jerry didn't convince McCarthy to give Moore a year as the play caller. I really hope that's not the case.

Must have been why they finally fired Garrett. They found their man. No long search. No nothing. McCarthy was probably my 3rd or 4th choice but at least he's established and did win a SB. More than any of the other clowns on this team.

I cant see him handing the offense over to Moore, but working in unison might make sense.

I dont think a team in win now mode wants to scrap their entire scheme.

Truth be told though it didn't seem to hurt the Rams.

I too will be very interested in how the rest of the staff is filled out.

McCarthy is a WCO coach and may want a coordinator with more West Coast experience.

Doesn't mean he won't keep him, but Moore may get pushed back in a lower capacity.
He better be careful because his last job because of outdated offense.

McCarthy is among four coaches to lead a single franchise to at least eight straight playoff appearances, joining Chuck Noll, Bill Belichick and Tom Landry.

Now I never heard of that last guy but that's impressive.
That right there would be an improvement over Garrett.

If these people actually READ THE ARTICLE, they’d see that it rips both Rodgers and McCarthy equally. The writer had zero agenda and collected quotes from dozens of sources close to the team.

Being too lazy to read and trashing the source is just easier.

I read the whole article. Trashing both sides is easy. Let the reader decide. I’m merely pointing out the percentages clearly favor the negative, and it’s not even CLOSE! For me personally, that takes the fun out of something meant to be enjoyed. That’s even worse than lazy!
