The same reality when it pertained to Daks massive contract Dak-Zoids we're posting about since last spring.
I'll take my eyes and common sense on the Dak issue and let you guys ra ra ra ra away till we get slapped down AGAIN by a good defense scoring FG all game long once again!

Agree.....new coach be in the same position as the old coach if the qb don’t change.
There is no miracle football coming fellows. They will end up calling the same calls we’ve been calling cause that’s all our qb can do.

I got my fingers crossed McCarthy didn’t take the job without having options at qb. And if he did, he’s gonna die the same slow death garrett did

I feel a lot better about paying Dak now that we are going to have real coaches to work with him, make him better, call plays and game plan to his strengths. Men that have been there, done that many, many times and know what they are doing.

While we had Garrett and his clown posse in town, I'll admit I was "meh" on keeping Dak. What would have been the point? Either way ok kind of thing. Or just transition tag him.

But that's all changed now.

And for those that aren't thinking that way, consider.

Would you rather have Tom Brady or Drew Brees in Dallas on a one or two year deal? Because the way you are thinking..............is how you get Tom Brady or Drew Bress in Dallas on one or two year deal.

Cousins put up great numbers in Washington and was clearly the best QB they’ve had in years. He had four consecutive 4000 yard seasons. He put up great numbers his final season with Washington but they finished 7-9 and a lot of the blame fell on him. Since the Commanders allowed him to walk they’ve gotten worse every year. I get that QBs are judged on their W/L record but you have to be careful with that sometimes. You can’t make the mistake of putting it all on the QB if they’re putting up solid numbers.

you def can when you have the cowboys roster dak has and not the Commanders roster cousins had.....yes sir you def can.

put your cowboy glasses back on and take your dak jersey off

You pay Dak ........ In a few years his contract will be a bargain.
Who is content with our QB? We are literally wasting a perfect opportunity with the supporting offensive cast. We have the line, receivers, and running back and can't get it done. Sure a lot of blame goes to Garrett and his decision to keep his pet QB on the field. I don't care about whatever backwards logic about a potential future contract when we could do the same with any other semi decent QB making much less so that we can build the defense and keep supporting the offense.

The knuckleheads on this board want us to do what Washington did and allow a very good productive QB to walk and go for a lesser QB who’s cheaper. That way the Cowboys could go down the drain while Dak goes off and makes a well coached team with motivated players a Super Bowl contender.

cool. I hope to hear from you at the end of the following season.

p.s.
Is there anything else we can provide for king Prescott? We’ve done our best to give him everything we can thus far. Now he needs to leave, or play like $30million dollar qb

Our roster is overrated and under achieving and hasn’t been well coached.

There’s plenty of teams he could start for if they didn’t already have quality QBs that he could continue to make a Super Bowl contender. He made us a Super Bowl contender two of his four seasons. It’s not our QB that’s been holding us back which is why the Cowboys have a new head coach.

starting at the qb

So what QB that will be “available“ would you rather have? Dak’s numbers were outstanding this season he just doesn’t have a good team around him. Nothing but a bunch of uninspired overpaid underachievers.

Dak is a good QB ........ and deserves a contract.
If you disagree then there is no reason to even discuss it with you....... Go talk to Pappypup.

We are paying Dak. I don't believe for a minute that McCarthy sold Jones to move on from Dak before he would take the job.

I believe McCarthy thinks he can win with Dak or he would not have taken the job

Then......name the teams that would be willing to pay dak prescott next year? Having dak on minimum money is one thing, paying him after he didn’t win anything is another thing. (The cowboys roster won’t get get better because dak collects $30million dollars.)

so, again I ask you to name me a team that is interested in dak Prescott’s services on his 2nd contract?

P.S.
there aren’t any

There's always room for discussion, regardless of agreement. Being dismissive about it, with all the apparent red flags, isn't the right mindset to have.

Im sure you and I are both excited to see what Dak can do this year, although our expectations may be different.

Now that we can finally purge the organization for Jason Garrett's stench the biggest question that remains is what do we do with Dak?
Clearly he is not a top 5 QB, and that is ok with me, but I also cannot pay him as such even though him and his agent demand that be the case.

I also don't believe Jerry is willing to really consider an alternative. I am good with using the Franchise tag if Jerry goes out and makes another move at QB. I would not want to waste 30 million on one year if we end up signing him next off season to an even larger contract. The whole kick the can down the road with QB contracts does not seem like a prudent philosophy.

1) We bit the bullet and sign him to a Wentz type contract and move on. Do we think the Front office can find another QB? Can we find another Dak/ Minshew?

2) Franchise Dak? What does that buy us? Is it to find out if we he is the long term solution?

3) Move on from Dak right now. What options do we have?
Keenum/ Rivers/ T.Hill, Winston, Mariotta. How much do we trust our infrastructure to develop an existing qb?

Wentz type contract? He was already offered more from what I read and he turned it down. Wed die for a "Wentz," type contract at this point.

it’s a long list.

every single qb we played this year (including Driscoll)
Plus about 6-10 guys in college
And about 3-4 local high school qb’s from the dfw area. (They May have not put up the “big numbers” dak had it they were perfectly capable of handing it to zeke once we had a lead.) that’s all dak did
