So heres the story. I have lived about 2 hours or so away from Green Bay for the last 30 years. I was born in these parts. Life long die hard Cowboys fan since I first started watching when I was a 10 year old kid. Made a new friend last year and we became pretty close. He's from Cali. He knew I was a die hard Cowboys fan but he didnt know that I absolutely despise the Packers. He ended up buying us seats to 2 packer games last year so I kinda had to go.

Ive been to 9 different Cowboys games in Dallas. Some at the old joint in Irving, some at the new. Gotta tell ya,.....the Packers game day experience at and around the stadium blows us right out of the water. I mean, its not even close. I mean,....this thing is a frikiin PARTY. a real snake pit. Im envious as hell. Ive always heard about it, but never saw it 1st hand to compare until last year. I WANT THAT in Dallas. I want a real homefield advantage for a change, a place where opposing teams are miserable. Tear down those silly paintings and the other niceties. Much more mud blood and beer,...and way less artsy fartsy. I want to win, and win big, especially in the playoffs. You cant do that without a true home field advantage. Dont know how to do it.... just get it done! Maybe drop ticket prices? More Joe palooka beer drinkin types and a few less latte sippers? I dunno,... I just know something has to change.

I disagree..100%.

GB, while I know Lambeau is this great nfl historical site... sucks. It was good to do once, but I will never go back unless it is a playoff game. The pre game tailgates in Dallas are awesome, and they are everywhere. Fans are partying for ours before the game, DJs busting out music, just a great fanfest. Once you get inside... it is LOUD. Maybe because of the stadium itself, the size, shape, acoustics, it isnt as loud as others, but it is loud. Now I do agree... lots of fans that are there for the experience, have their kids there trying to get on the jumbo screen, etc,. But it is loud there.

Add in the stadium is easy in and easy out, it is a great place to see a game.

I think it just is what it is.

The circus atmosphere just leads to a circus vibe when you go to the stadium.

But... I think they made it in a way for dudes who love football to bring their wife and kids to the game and let them have some trendy cool things to see as well like Art, dancers, a giant screen, and all that fluff.

I loved Texas stadium. Att&t.. I went once and I just don't see myself throwing away all that money when my experience at home is just as good if not better.

NFL games just aren't that great to go to IMO.

You spend a ton on tickets, wake up early and fight traffic, finally get there, pay for parking, go in and everything costs a million dollars, watch the Cowboys underachieve for 4 quarters, fight the crowd back to your car, and then fight traffic once again.
You pretty much nailed it. I liked the old stadium. I went to one game at the new stadium and wouldn't go back if they gave me the tickets for free. Much more enjoyable to be in the comforts of my house where I can pause the action whenever I want and drink 6 or 8 beers for the price of one at the stadium. And as you stated...no traffic headaches!

Pittsburgh and Green Bay.... it's their thing, its the towns identity. It's the cold, the history, the northern toughness. It is a cool thing. Your just not getting that in a big city like Dallas. I went to Pittsburgh for the first time a couple years ago. It is a really neat place. I can see the comradery built around their sports teams. Same thing in Green Bay. It is just a different atmosphere you will never get in a city like Dallas

You can get that at a Texas High School game. It's actually about the total atmosphere that is created with a basic but very real football stadium with real grass. When I was a kid went to may games at RFK and it had the same atmosphere the OP is talking about.

We’re a wine and cheese crowd at home. Cowboys fans outside of TX are a little more amped up but that’s prob bc we don’t get to see them so often.

We're a wine and cheese crowd?
More like Busch beer and trailer park crowd, I must say.

It's Green Bay. Not exactly the most eclectic mix of people on the planet.
In Texas people talk about their boats, their catfish lures and deer leases. In Wisc. they discuss fishing huts and lures for trout.

The only thing I know about Texas High School football is Friday Night lights, but that seems the same to me. It the towns identity, it is the comraderie of generations competing for the school - the family and so forth. Could be wrong but High School is not the Cowboys and the money it takes to buy season tickets. It is a totally different thing IMO. A totally different crowd. What Green Bay fan would buy tickets on the field level where you can't even see the game. That's not a football fan, that is a party goer!

The stadium is a reflection of the jones family, and there is nothing the HC can do about a stadium lol.
You need to talk to jerry about all that.
The thing I dont get is the sunlight that comes in on afternoon games, they have curtains, but refuse to use them!
I dont get that at all.
The art if you consider it art lol is there because jerrys wife wanted it there.
The other stuff is there to maximize money made.
If jerry were a real football fan and not obsessed with making more money, he would have made a single purpose
football stadium with real sod and grass.
But again the whole idea was to maximize making more money so it is a multi event type stadium.

The amazing thing is the Roman Coliseum could do more event types than ATT, and that was 2000 years ago.
It was also free to go to.

It's a nice thought but it's not going to happen. To create that atmosphere, the price of admission would have to come way down.

I think the fact that the GB fans are the owners of the team lends a certain air of commitment, and more of the "we" feeling so many even on this site look down upon. Think of how much more pride you'd have in the Cowboys if you were part owner, no matter how miniscule your share was. (Even aside from the extra pride of knowing Jerry wasn't the owner.)

The Cowboys didn't have that when Landry or Jimmy were the Head Coach...

Not enough blue collar uneducated types in Dallas...

This post is spot on.

I actually pitty the fools that pay good money to go watch a game at an NFL stadium.

I used to do it every year until I finally wised up and realized it is so much more convenient, comfortable, enjoyable, and free to just watch the games in my own home.

Not that ive seen and Ive been there many times both at the old and the new. Trust me, there is a difference and its huge. i mean, i get it, if you have never seen something than its hard to compare. Just saying.....its wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy different. Whatever you think the experience in the tailgate area is at ATT figure that x 100.

To each his own, it takes all kinds to make a fan base. Raunchy, wild, composed, sedate, clap like you have thunder in your hands, elegantly wave your Cowboys towel or hankie, I don't care. Be all who you are.

I agree. I just want a home field advantage for a change is all. In the end all I care about is winning championships. Truthfully I really dont even give a damn about the players. In the end they all come and go, just temporary pieces on a chessboard that are replaced by newer models after awhile LOL. Players come and go but the game always remains. To me its all about the TEAM.
