Genuinely excited for next season with all the changes we’ve seen. This will be fun.

Regarding that 1st tweet-
The whole “cast a wide net” thing is not an issue for me here. People keep bringing it up, but we clearly got OUR guy. You don’t keep looking when you have what you want within your grasp.

Cast too wide of a net and you’ll search forever while everyone gets hired then you’re left with nothing.

I don’t think the Jones settled here, and I don’t think it was some impulsive decision. They knew what they wanted, and quickly learned that McCarthy fit the bill.

Totally agree, the NFL is a small community and McCarthy was a known commodity. They spent a full day making sure the concerns from both sides were addressed. They didn't need anything more than that and if he went to a second interview with the Giants they could have lost him.

1 win this year against a team with a winning record, no I don't think so...

Yet he has never had a losing record as a QB, and has Improved his play each year. This not gonna be a Dak debate, you don’t want him signed long term fine, I do. But he’s trending to get that long term coin, and I will be happy when it is done.

I'm more comfortable with signing Dak to a deal now that MM is on board and we're going to have an entirely new coaching staff of real coaches.

While Garrett and the clown posse was still in town, I'll admit letting him walk into FA was fine with me. I just didn't think it mattered one way or the other too much. Stinking King Kong at QB probably wouldn't have been enough.

Now I say get it done. Let's move forward into our brand new day.

Nope....franchise tag will hurt our team tremendously. Can’t and won’t happen.
NO, giving him a long term deal and Dak's only successful when all the parts are around him is worse, and you're stuck with an albatross contract around the franchse for years....One win in 2019 against winning teams isn't franchise quarterback material to me, doesn't mean he can't be but he isn't there yet!

just franchise him, make him prove he's worth a long term deal first

I thought this all year as well, but the negative of tagging him is that we’d owe him 30 something million this year. If we sign him to a contract we can be more strategic about how it hits the cap. I could be wrong though, I’m not a cap expert by any means.

If the difference between the tag and an extension is being able to add another nice piece or two, then I say sign him up.
