According to Bucky Brooks on the Herd, who claims to know McCarthy well, emphasizes the TE position in his offense. Brooks said the position needs upgrading. So my fellow draftniks, you may want to start looking at the talent available first three rounds. If it were me I would emphasize the other side of the ball, but it isn't me.

I think Trautman looks like the best suited TE for this Team. We can land him with a mid to late rounder. Pinckney is my second choice.

I don’t think MM is as TE crazy as we’ve been
Sure everyone wants a Kittle but I don’t think we take a TE in first 2 rnds at all
Maybe a cheap FA
I think they ride with jarwin and Schultz and maybe some late end guy
Use both RB’s in the backfield and split one of them out

I could see Albert O being a target in the 2nd. He has the body to get a good in line blocker, but he is gonna need work. I don't know that he is your short term awnser.

I might look to free agency first to get more of a short time solution. If I do draft a TE with an eye on development, I think we could get something in a trade with Jarwin. Nothing great, but maybe a 5th or a player

I'd hope/like to think that Dallas could/should reserve their top 3 picks for more dire needs, and address TE in FA.

Depending on what happens with Cooper, let's just assume they're not going to resign him..Austin Hooper would be my go to. I've seen and heard that he's projected at a 5 year deal, totalling out at 50m..so he's a little on the high end :D However, the kid is good.

Cheaper options, with some dropsies sporadically, could be Ebron or Ricky Seals-Jones.

I don't really understand where the idea that McCarthy builds around TEs comes from. Finley had a couple of nice years, but otherwise, he's made due with very little talent at the position. Jarwin can go out and catch 45 balls if they need him to.

We have drafted multiple TE over the last few years, from Escobar, Phillips and recently to Swaim, Jarwin and Shultz, it would be easier to give Jarwin a run and look to sign a TE in FA.

This is what I would do. I don't think you'll find better value as a receiving TE on the market. I'd kick the tires on David Njoku as well. He and Jarwin would be a dynamic combo.

Have not viewed on draftable TE, but the way things are set up...I agree with most that DAL should add a FA for TE.

Why would Cleveland give him away

Nobody before round 3 unless he’s a Kelci clone...

A Cowboys type move for the cheap. Glad Tyler played all season, for him.
I think Eifert would be a good sign...get him cheaper than say Hooper or even Henry. I like Henry ,but he's an average to below average blocker. Eifert would be a solid bridge until we draft a top TE. I think this years TE class is a little week to take any in the first 3 rounds.
