There are numerous players that need to be held accountable for lackluster performances this past year and under the microscope next year.
One player I will be paying attention to is Trysten Hill.
The Cowboys past over a few Safeties, who were much needed position wise, in order to take Hill due to his Fit for their type of Defense.
He barely touched the field his first season. I am willing to give him some slack and chalk it up to adjusting to the Pro game. Being a 2nd round Pick, you would think he should have the ability to contribute more. I fault the coaches and scouting for that.
Hopefully he can show some major improvement next season. If not, that will mean that he will be the second High Round pick bust in the past 3 years (Taco).
Teams that miss on high round pick suffer long term damage, especially when none of the other later picks surprise and make the miss seem like a wash.
Another ramification of these misses is that teams usually have to go and overspend in Free Agency in order to find someone to upgrade that position.

Chidobe Awuzie

He should have been benched as far back as week 3 or 4

he had a good rookie year but this year he was FAR FAR FAR too frustrating like why cant you ever turn your head and swat the ball down its DB 101 scheme, man , zone ,43 ,34 ,52 you still turn your head

if it keeps up this year then he should be traded by the deadline

Vander Esch, his absence really hurt the D and Smith this season. I will watch closely to see just how much that neck issue is affecting him because we could see that happen to him immediately after it was aggravated.

And second will be Lawrence, he must be a force and draw doubles consistently.

Lots of candidates after a year full of under performance all over the roster, but the one that sticks out to me is Jaylon Smith. As good and humble as this guy was two years ago, he was the classic case of a guy who got paid and his ego went through the roof.

His play went way down hill, and the celebrations down 20+ points really didn't look good.

I think LVE will be fine. This surgery is probly one he has needed for a while. I think D-Law is going to depend on who is playing across from him. Gregory could be back in play although I will never count on it. Can we keep Quinn. He was a great surprise for us. Or do we draft someone or have someone currently that takes the next step. D-Law can’t do it on his own.

There are several individual player concerns. Hard to pick just one.
Coop is my main concern. He shouldn't play if the chronic injury affects his pass catching.

For the entire team, a new coaching scheme could help the team focus on playing as a team - not as a collection of disparate units, stat/salary seekers, and a few glory hogs.

The needs in the draft are yet to be defined. If they don't have WR or CB at the top, they could very well take a DT or edge rusher.

If this is really spinal stenosis with LVE, that surgery should have taken place before now. The only thing I know about injuries with the Cowboys is the BS they sell, they always undersell an injury. That's one of the problems with having an optimist instead of a realist at the helm.

#1 I'm going after L. P. Ladouceur our long snapper. He has gotten too long of a rode without criticism for those snaps. We all know he is the reason that punting and kicking game have been so bad. Not to mention our D. :muttley:

#2 I am watching Rowdy like a hawk. That loser was hired in 1996 the year after we won our last Super Bowl. The two years before he was hired we went to the last NFC Championship game and the year before we won the SB. Since then we haven't even been back to the conference game.

I give you guys to most important guys to watch on this team. They are the reason for the long drought in this franc

Talking Head DLaw....time to shut up and play.
I do not want to listen to him yapping, I do not want to hear about the stupid hot Boyz crap. I do not want him blaming others, especially the fans.

As to the OP about Hill. I am willing to wait and see how the new defense and coaches will use him and if they can motivate him. As I am many other players as well. Like Awuzie and Jones, if he stays.
