Barring an unlikely comeback by the Packers, this playoff season we will have seen Brees, Rodgers, Wilson and Brady, all "elite" quarterbacks, fail to make the Super Bowl.

Which goes to show that you don't HAVE to have the "elite" quarterback to go far in the playoffs, even in this pass-happy age....

No, but you need to have a lot of other pieces, which means you have to be able to spread the cap money out proportionally.

They'll just recycle and get another group of "second tier" backs who are equally effective if they keep the OL strong. RB is the most transferable position. Most easily replaced.

Jimmy G blew out his ACL in week three last season (at Kansas City, interestingly). They lost 9 of their next 10 games.

Seems like he makes a difference.

Well, we don't know for certain. But they rebuilt that defense. And it doesn't hurt that they were picking second in the draft when Nick Bosa was available. Dude is a monster.
