Initially, I felt as though franchising Dak would be ok. Take a year to see if he's REALLY the way forward...

But the scope has completely changed since the hiring of McCarthy. We need Dak in camp on day one. This upcoming season has the potential to be a very special season. Don't half step. Sign the QB. For once, get in front of the 8 ball instead of behind it.

I, personally, wouldn't blame Dak for holding out if not signed. At the end of the day, the Dallas Cowboys don't give a crap about him. They give a crap about the franchise... Period.

Sign Dak ASAP.

I m not lobbying for a bank breaking contract. Dak has already made it clear he's willing to take something that's "fair for both sides"... So get it done!

Once he is paid we’ll pretty much be out of the Super Bowl hunt until that contract is over.

Hoping our coach is the 1st coach to win a Super Bowl with a different team plus paying a mediocre QB like he is elite will be too difficult to overcome.

Our drafting has to be incredible for us to even have a shot. We need someone who can make a huge impact.

That is the most ludicrous and biased statements I've ever heard from anyone on this forum. You do realize Thom Brady was terrible the last time they won the superbowl right? He did nothing... It would be great if you were a bit more realistic so maybe we could slightly take you seriously.

I’m very realistic. You’re just not paying close enough attention to paid QBs and their championship success.

Also, no coach has done what we are hoping MM can do.

"Reports on Monday came out that Prescott, who has started every game the past three seasons but is just 1-2 in the playoffs, had turned down a $30 million a year deal and instead asked for $40 million a year, which would make him the highest-paid QB in the league." - usatoday.com

He wants 40 million .

You're taking things that happened in the history and saying that it automatically applies to the cowboys future and that is nuts. I think you ought to be paying more attention to not what Qb's are paid but the skill level of guys that have won like Nick Foles, ETC.. It's about a well rounded team and not what your QB got paid..

There is rumors that Brees, Brady, Rivers, Winston, Mariotta, Carr, and who knows else could all be available but instead we’re going to pay a mediocre QB like he is a top 3 guy in football.

Goodbye Super Bowl.

I agree.
& I would say if anyone should be paid that money (40M) , it should be Brady . For a 2-3 year contract .
I say bring him in . Kraft will never pay him that .

Lol the skill level is not the problem. It’s the team that you put around these QBs.

Daks skill is fine.. It’s just not ok to pay him like he is an elite QB because this thing called the salary cap will put limits on the team we can fit around him.

This is simply not true.

Brady put up very good numbers in that run and made the key throws at key times, many of which Dak would not even attempt.

Against KC Brady threw for 348 with a 77.1% completion rate.
Against The Rams he threw for 262 with a 71.4% completion rate.

Hardly "nothing".

I really think if Dak got put out onto the open market with all these potential guys available he would be looked at as such terrible value and his number would fall down considerably.

I think only Dallas is stupid enough to give him 33 million plus anyways.

It is hard for me to accept the opinion of “just sign em”. I am a believe in Dak guy, but it takes 2 to tango. Without knowing the exact numbers and years that are being thrown around, I’m cautious on putting more responsibility on one side or the other. While Stephen and Jerry have the whole team to consider, because of cap, Dak only has to be concerned about himself. So if I’m gonna lean any way, it would be for the team.

Were talking about superbowls here.. Brady did nothing in the superbowl it was all defense and field goals.. Simply, he was horrid in the super bowl.

Anyone believing Jerry Jones will not eventually pay Dak Prescott through the nose should begin hoping and praying Jones develops severe chronic debilitating rheumatoid arthritis, starting today, because Jones does not get hand cramps writing checks.
