Clowney is considered the better overall and complete player. Clowney, age 27, is also 3 years younger than Quinn (who will be age 30) in May.
but he's also been nicked and dinged and has some wear- tear toll on his body already. But no doubt, he is clearly looking for his own big money long term contract
with a pending NFL team. And like Quinn, i'm guessing it's very likely to be with a 4-3 scheme team.
While he's still making name recognition pro bowl invites, I don't think Clowney is at the level of the No.1 overall pick as when he was coming out of college.
Quinn, imo.. is the better pure edge pass rusher of the two, and at one point, before his back injuries took a toll, he collected an amazing 19 sacks in a single season with the Rams.
but he remains an average run defender.
If we re-signed Quinn, it's gonna be in that 11-12 million range (at the least) as he's trying to collect that last big NFL contract of his remaining career.
Both players may need share their snaps with a capable sub to lessen the wear n toll and extend their durability and careers.
