The additional wc doesn't affect the pay like the 17th game but taking that bye from the 2nd seed is paving the way for the 1 seed and it's not like that isn't already a trend. And often, the 1 seed has the same record, there were 3 in the NFC this year, and the tiebreaker plays into it too much.

17 is stupid. If they're going to do it, just go to 18, dump two of the preseason games, add a bye week and add two full game checks and have the Nets cover the additional, they've practically giving away the preseason anyway and the Nets don't carry most of them. Move the start back to Labor Day weekend and go well into Feb for the playoffs, that's a ratings sweep month, August is a down viewing month anyway with vacations and back to school hysterics.

I would go up to 63 on the rosters (nanner nanner booboo to you XFL) and 55 active on game days and rotate players more on the lines to save on the wear and tear. That would mean more players for the cap so you don't have this asinine QB runaway salary that will eventually wreck the league.

The 17th game will almost certainly be on neutral territory... either an international venue or at a city in the US that doesn’t have an NFL team.
Then, the 17th game makes a lot of sense.
