Those short patterns are exactly what they should do with Dez. Put him in the slot and give him slants galore. Let him punish guys in the secondary. Dez is too slow to run deep routes but he is a powerful runner. He can certainly catch passes in the slot and truck people. Inside the 20 he is a great high point guy.

It all makes sense if he can behave.
