Not sensitive. I'm just saying if I came on here calling you a ****** slobberer you'd probably be offended. Why should we have to sit through these thoughts you have of men slobbering other men?
So all of the Romosexual comments made in reference to anyone that defended Romo is forgotten now I see. Man Up!!!

Right, so can't count on him, so draft a QB. That is my take now days as the draft approaches. What, 9 days away.
This pushes Dak to sign, the we have a back up plan and possibly trade potential in the future for the drafted QB or a possible future QB if Dak does not work out on his tag. If he signs.

The more I think about it, drafting a QB at 17 is a win win.
Enough is enough. It’s gone WAY past old. Let’s act like he’s not gonna be there. I used to like this kid, but you offer him 33 million a year to play football, and he turns up his nose and puts the team in jeopardy because of ego and greed.

The apologists can spew out any “market value” CRAP they need to. I ain’t listening!

So you don't see the difference between calling someone a slobberer as opposed to a fictional term like Romo sexual? Not even sure what Romo had to do with this discussion but as usual he somehow finds his way.....

Just checked . Yep Wentz and Goff got 4 year extensions. The only one being unreasonable here is Jerry Jones. Give Dak his 4 year contract like everyone else.

I have said it a thousand times. What Dak is seeking is to only be treated as his peers. Not better. Not worse. EQUAL.

If I spent 4 years at a law firm making 1/30 of my peers and my production rivals theirs, ** for thinking the next 4 years I am taking one penny less or signing a lesser contract than them. **. Either sign me to a ******* market contract or release me. Period. End of Discussion.
OK, release him. There HAS TO BE a ceiling SOMEWHERE on pay scales for athletes! The next supergenius will invent an offensive scheme that doesn’t live or die by one individual to compete.

Dak’s well within his rights here, and it’s the right business decision.

If it goes down like this, for the second year in a row, it’s going to make it harder for me personally to root for this group of players to win the big one. Zeke’s holdout-in what should have been a contending season-was bad enough. This one, in the first year with a new HC, would be worse. Don’t get me wrong: I’ll still root for the laundry. But it’s more fun when you also really want the players to get the championship because you like them and respect their commitment. When they take actions that affect the outcomes of seasons for their teammates in order to get as much money as possible, it’s harder to respect their commitment to winning.
GREAT POST

In the current situation, someone explain to me why a player would skip the virtual meetings?

it’s one thing to skip the physical OTAs held around this time of the year because of the injury risk but what is the issue in the virtual setting?

The NFL has set up the virtual off season so that players who participate will complete their conditioning from home. Teams will send monitors to players to verify. If a player completes it, he will get get his normal per diem.

It would be a bad idea to miss all non contact drills, new coaching staff...show leadership as the qb...

man what an easy thing for an armchair GM to decide.
as soon as you're finished your cheetos, tell us your next move.

Dude you’re at the wrong place if you don’t like opinions like these..

If you would like to see someone Pom Pom all things Cowboys then maybe there is a cheerleader forum.

The whole country is debating these things.. It’s not just me that has this opinion and there are reasons people like me have this opinion.

I know. Because the owner/gm could never hurt the team. Its on the players lol. Dak this time.
Hey, Dak was offered a fair contract in relation to the Russel Wilson contract which he should not be approaching in value anyway. It may not be fair relative to guys below but he needs to meet in the middle. Nobody on here knows the actual terms offered or requested but we have a range and Jerry has not been cheap so he should show up.

So in 2 seasons when Dak is the 7-8th highest paid QB you’ll be fine? You know the first 2 years of the contract are manageable hits as well so even when he’s a top 3 paid guy it won’t hinder our ability to make moves.

The reality is your insistence on winning with QB’s on rookie deals is not only risky, but will prove to have simply been a product of the last CBA. The new CBA is already signed, we know the caps will explode as gambling revenue is counted and TV contracts are renewed. Signing Dak at 35-36 will literally be a bargain in 2 seasons.

I don’t see why you refuse to see that all your concerns about paying Dak aren’t even relevant anymore. He’s not hamstringing the cap and picking a rookie QB is ridiculously risky. You said he’s around the 10th best QB, you don’t think with a real coaching staff he keeps improving to 7-8 range? At that point not only will he be paid what he’s worth, but trying to find a QB better than 7/8 has a ridiculously slim chance at working.

So in 3 years maybe we can compete again?

Id rather just take the loss and move up for one of these QBs then go down the path of Dakverage.

The Rules are the rules? Okay. Dak is not obligated to sign the franchise tag.
absolutely, he is not. But then Id let him sit all season and watch while he collected unemployment checks. Yea.... lets see if he is willing to pass up whatever amount the tag now gets a qb. Let him sit out.... like I said, how many QBs have been in this position and held out? QBS, not position players.... QBs.

I am starting to believe that regardless of who the coach is this core team of players will never win any thing of importance I think they are becoming a core of under achievers

Duuude, just said first 2 years the cap hits are lower than the 35+. With a 4 year deal his first two year cap hits are 30 and 33M, in a 5 year deal to they are 27 and 31M. Both are very operative numbers and actually the accurate price for Dak. It’s not until year 3 when that hits 35+M, and by that time he’s no longer a top 3 paid guy and the cap will have risen to the point where 35M is not a debilitating number.

I’m trying to tell you the logic you keep using is circular. You say paying him will string up our cap, but in fact it won’t as his cap hits are low the first two years and the cap will rise significantly by the time his cap hit does. A deal in the range of 35M will not be a burden.

OK, but if a player gets hurt outside of this activity who is responsible for that? Players do personal workouts all the time, with other players, trainers outside of the team.

Most injuries occur on the football field and that is where the risk is...hence why OTAs are skipped and sometimes minicamp.

So in this setting where is the risk?

Basically every player that has been franchised and has not yet signed a new contract or the tag skips the offseason program. DeMarcus Lawrence did it last year until he signed, too.

This is a non-story. I could have told you Dak would do this four years ago if they tagged him.
