anybody who thinks he can ever be good enough to replace Dak is nuts or havent seen him play.He misses wide open guys,he is gun shy and will throw it to guys who are very open.I will go out on te limb and say he will not be resigned by the team who drafted him.

I think Herbert can succeed but a team will have to be VERY patient.
He's probably 1.5 to 2 years away.
Tough to draft a guy top 10 and pay him that slot then sit him that long.....

But he is a great project for teams without a long-term NFL QB.

i dont even know why he stayed on for one more year, there was no improvement in his game.I can say with certainty that i have never been more underwhelmed by a QB who was touted as a top 10 pick every time i saw him.

I watched every single game of his career. His senior year he was down to almost no experienced WRs. His best receiver was Jacob Breeland his TE who got injured early on. He and everyone else that watched had no idea what his receivers were going to do. A ton of bad routes or wrong reads(by receivers) killed him all year. You are looking at him in a vacuum.

All I know is that Bill Belichick and the Patriots are high enough on him to consider moving up for him next week (according to rumors). If They like him that says alot.

The offense fit him very poorly. Quick reads and short throws.
He's most likely a play action then big shot guy. Terrific arm strength but diagnoses plays more slowly.
They didn't let him run until the last couple games.
He misses some throws badly with footwork issues. He's a really long dude and he has to develop a more compact release, quicker, better footwork and learn to read the defense.

It's a lot.

But he is a 4.0 student so not stupid.
He's 6'6" and 238 pounds and runs a 4.68.
He's very durable.

His WRs dropped 100 passes his final two seasons. 100.... lord.

All in all if a team thinks he a day 1 starter they are going to be drafting real high the next season but he has a ceiling few possess.

I think his ceiling is Ben R.
His floor is Zach Mettenberger.

Herbert is what you want from the QB and I think QBs are just less likely to bust more then ever because they throw so much before they become a pro.

He also meets a lot of Bill Parcells requirements for a QB..

I think at worst he is solid and at best he could be one of the better QBs in football..

He’s a rare talent.

Exactly and I think his floor is really high simply because he is so mobile.

Josh Allen is an effective player in this league simply because he is mobile.. Herbert is a better player then he is.

His demeanor is like Joe Flacco. Which is not a bad thing, just don't expect him to be a leader.

That’s fine.. If Joe Flacco could run like Herbert then he’d still be playing.

Plus he will be cheap for 5 years.

Herbert is a fantastic prospect.

He’s the current NFL prototype.

Absolutely!!!

I like Herbort. Might even turn out to be the best QB in his class.

He could turn out to be the best QB..

He could also turn out to be another Marcus Mariotta..

He’s a fantastic prospect though and a great bet to turn out good.

It’s hard to stop a 6’6 QB that can hit open WRs anywhere on the field and runs like a WR as well.

Mariotta was inaccurate from the start.

He really appears to be a more mobile Joe Flacco. Same arm, same demeanor, just a clone w/ more mobility.

Every single player is subject to busting. Yes even Chase Young.

QBs are a different animal. Much higher bust rate.

Dont want to start this debate but there are very few that get to a level of beyond criticism, even when you set passing records or win Super Bowls.
