The one stat that would terrify me if I'm considering draft Justin Herbert or Jordan Love is this... % of uncatchably off-target throws targeting when an OPEN receiver 5-18 yards downfield in 2019: Tua 4.3% Hurts 5.0% Burrow 5.1% Love 14.1% Herbert 18.1%

you cant blame this on the receiver too, dude goes through whole quarters stinking up the joint, one of the most overhyped QBs to come out in recent years.

Herbert is what you want from the QB and I think QBs are just less likely to bust more then ever because they throw so much before they become a pro.

He also meets a lot of Bill Parcells requirements for a QB..

I think at worst he is solid and at best he could be one of the better QBs in football..

He’s a rare talent.

Seriously a NFL front office should pay me for QB opinions.

anybody who thinks he can ever be good enough to replace Dak is nuts or havent seen him play.He misses wide open guys,he is gun shy and will throw it to guys who are very open.I will go out on te limb and say he will not be resigned by the team who drafted him.
Oooopsily.

Every single player is subject to busting. Yes even Chase Young.

QBs are a different animal. Much higher bust rate.

Dont want to start this debate but there are very few that get to a level of beyond criticism, even when you set passing records or win Super Bowls.

I just yawn at this way of thinking.

The transition from college to pro has never been easier.

I don't even recall writing that. When was it from?

I'm sorry if you yawn about the idea that every player isnt subject to busting but they are.

I was always a Herbert fan btw.

I agree..

But people have become terrified of drafting QBs and I think a QB is just as likely to hit or bust now days as any player.

With Dak demanding all of the money I would rather draft if the right guy is there.

Herbert is a ridiculous talent and now the Chargers get him for 5 years on a rookie deal and get to improve while we do the Dak dance and take Ls.

I thought Miami should have taken him.

Was the safer play.

If we suppose Lamb went in the top 16 but Herbert didnt, Dallas still wouldnt have taken him.

Worked out perfectly for LAC, that little Taylor charade was cute also.

Something something anointing oil.

He's still really sloppy.

He's a rookie.

There is too much potential there.
Sure. But it's not like he's done enough to prove he isn't going to bust. Lots of QBs have starts like this.

He's relying entirely on his athleticism right now and that will always be up-and-down, if it doesn't have a short shelf life entirely.

How does Herbert have anything to do with Dak? Dallas wasn't in position to draft Herbert. Trading up to get into position to draft Herbert would have cost a ton. The right guy wasn't there for Dallas to draft in 2020. It would have been a huge reach to draft any of the other QBs in the 1st round.

With Dak we’re stuck in mediocrity..

We can either lock down this mediocre brand or take some Ls and draft a guy..

Unfortunately for us I see Andy Dalton getting Dak like results and we will be drafting lower then we need to be to ever get over this hump.

Even if Dak was a top three QB, his salary would still kill any hope of being able to afford to sign decent players to put around him.
