How?

He was in more mocks on CZ than probably any other player. Definitely more than any other mid/late round player...
Never watched a vid on the kid until today. Never really thought center was a need in the draft either.

Definitely not a day one starter. Just educated myself on the kid. Inconsistency is his issue. Has elite type talent though.
Still, getting him in the 5th round is outstanding value. If he works with Zack Martin and the rest of the boys and gets better & better, who know what will happen! Plus I’m sure FredBeard will be happy to help him out with some things as well.

Really...

The Cowboys didn't get an exact clone of 1st round pick and multi-time All Pro Travis Frederick in the 4th round?

Not saying Frederick wasn’t the better prospect & obviously his career speaks for itself, BUT I clearly remember most of the base on here was not happy at all when we picked him that year. And people who say the majority wasn’t disappointed with the pick would be lying.

Well we had to draft a guy with injury upside, he's your guy and he says he's healthy now.

Honestly this addition makes this one of the most solid top to bottom drafts so far that I have seen from this team in quite some time.

If you don't think it has something to do with a new leadership...well I got a ticket on Jerry's yacht you can buy.

Now your eyes have been opened...
The kid is impressive but I think we are solid at center to include depth. Maybe he can play some guard as well. I see that he played tackle in HS.

Player A:

6' 3 1/2"

312

Three-year starter with experience at guard and center. Fringe athletic ability. A power player who gets push in the run game. Smooth and aware enough to handle inside stunts. Can anchor a bull rush. Gets movement on the down player, he as the size and strength to dominate a nose tackle. Roots defenders out of the hole. Has a tendency to lose his knee bend and play high, thereby losing his leverage. Some lower body stiffness. Should eventually start with pro physical development. Second/third round. Overall grade of 8.58

Player B:

6 3 1/2"

314

Three-year starter. Has NFL starter written all over him. Has the tools to be an elite center and probable week one contributor. If he can fix some of his technique red flags, there will be very few chinks in his armor. Powerful and stout with a pair of vice grip hands that will lock onto defenders with no release in sight. Has the athletic ability to get out into space as a lead blocker with full control and balance. Intelligent and experienced player who is capable of making line calls and directing traffic. Doesn't always play with proper balance and footwork. Gets top heavy and will over lean with makes him susceptible for double moves. Pass blocking skills are inconsistent. Second/third round. Overall grade of 8.27
