Does anyone have an estimate? Just curious if we are done or if we have anymore to spend.

Also, can we save money by cutting Cooper Rush? Cause I think he’s gone.

Still holding out hope we cut Crawford to free money to spend on better players, but I’m wondering what the cap is now if we don’t cut or restructure him.

If they restructure 4 contracts and cut Crawford, they would have 49M in cap space with Dak counting 31M under the Franchise Tag.

If Dak signs a new contract, the 1st year cap hit will be less than 31M.

Cutting Cooper Rush saves 2.1M but my numbers above don't include Andy Dalton.

It appears that Dalton will make 3M if he does not play.

Cowboys will definitely cut some fat now.
Redo Crawford
Redo Jaylon Smith
Redo Zeke
Redo Tank

All four had down years and had overpaying fat new contracts.

And people expect Dak to PLAY BETTER after his new deal goes down.?

People wake up.

The only reason to let him go is to sign someone else.

Or if they want to roll the cap space forward thus increasing their available space in 2021.

But that seems unlikely because I am sure they view some sort of roll for him obviously.

Tyrone Crawford come on down....
who on the roster is better than Crawford on the DL....there is a few of course....
McCoy
Lawrence
Poe

do you trust Aldon Smith, who has been out of football for 3 years to be your starting DE? how about Jelks? Jackson? as good as we may think we are on the DL, we are not that deep....

and before we cut him, lets get through camp, lets see what all these young players have and if we can count on them. for now, its all potential on paper.

Also will get cap space after June 1st with TFred's contract being split between 2020 and 2021.

4.975mil dead but 7mil savings.

~6mil dead next year.

If we decide to keep him all I am saying is it shouldn’t be for an 8M cap hit. Restructure or go sign someone better for his 8M due is my point and let him walk. That 8M is too rich IMHO for someone that has been marginally productive on a bad line, that is now coming off hip surgeries too.

I don't disagree. the question is will someone give him 8 M? and what's the cap hit? and who else is available that would be better at 8M?

Dak's $31.4 million franchise tag is already on the books. Tenders hit the cap at the time of designation, not when they are signed.

Apply that 8M towards Griffin. Then we have a solid RDE until we see or know what we get from Gregory or Smith. Kind of a Dalton like upgrade for RDE. We can turn what we get from Gregory or Smith into a bonus and not a need.

Rush was on a RFA tender and now the Cowboys have 9.6 mil left in cap space.
