I am embarrassed that you are a Cowboys fan!
I’m embarrassed that you are a fake Cowboys fan! Lets see how the season goes, I believe in my QB!

Why would he take less than he can get on an even shorter deal?Am I missing something or your proposed number is off? Not much of a discount for a shorter contract. I would say 4 yrs but average less than $30 million per yer. It’s a bet on himself.
The cap is an excuse for ownership to give to the fanbase on why they cant sign a player. Its a soft cap at best and CASH is more important than cap and no team has more cash on hand than the Cowboys.
Someone 'not so bright,' when he ends up with less than what was on the table from ALL sources. Why would he take less than he can get on an even shorter deal?
He gets more than that on tag and then he’s free to negotiate a new deal next year after cap goes up again
If you don’t believe Dallas is trying to get a cheap deal with Dak, just consider the Tag.
Q: Why didn’t they use the non-exclusive tag?
A: They could have let another team negotiate, allow Dak to see his value in the league. Then they could have taken the 2 first round picks or simply matched the offer. If Dak never accepted another team’s offer, then Dallas would have the chip to prove he and his agent are being unreasonable. The non-exclusive tag is almost completely in favor of the team.
Q: So why the exclusive tag?
A: Dallas values Dak more than 2 first round picks AND they believe another team would value and pay him more than they want to pay. There is no other logical reason. If there is, please share.
This isn’t about the fans’ opinions of Dak, elite or garbage. It doesn’t matter what we think of his value nor whom we think is holding up a deal nor greed.
The exclusive tag says it all. The Cowboys, right or wrong, value Dak more than the first round picks, and they believe other teams value him and would pay more than they want to pay. The exclusive tag is the
Joneses saying, We want Dak on a below-market deal that somehow favors us either in cash or longevity, and we do not want to lose him for first round picks nor risk having to pay what the market might bear.
Maybe....depends on our slot. Plus the two first rounders are almost never in the same draft, so one of them is viewed as less valuable. Also, if a team is near the top who needs a QB, they aren’t trading the chance to draft a guy like Lawrence for any haul. Two first round picks, with the Dallas pick, would get the top QB in next year's draft...lol

I wouldn’t trade Dak for 2 picks, but again, that doesn’t matter. Using the exclusive tag shows the Jones boys were not interested in picks or matching a market offer. So now they think they have control, but it’s turning into a mess, and I blame them.

Dak's Options
Long Term Contract
5yrs @ $35 million per year with $106 million guaranteed
Short Term Franchise Tag
2yrs @ $35 million per year with $70 million guaranteed
*assumes the risk of injury for 1st yr
(becomes a free agent at 28 yrs old, in 2 yrs mahomes and watson should have long term deals raising the qb market value to 40 million)
The injury is a issue on a tag. But if you come out clean like Cousins, its going to be a HUGE pay day.Dak's Options

Hmmm, if given the opportunity I believe Dalton can lead this team DEEP into the playoffs. This dude is a gunslinger with heart, I won't bet against him!!!!!!!!!!Dalton ain’t taking us anywhere. Don’t sign dak that’s fine by me. But Dalton is not the answer.
Right now there’s no way I personally would trade all my picks to move up to the top pick, which is what it would take to get Lawrence. We will have 1 #1 draft pick, so how is that any good?Responsibility always rests with the team...if a fair deal is offered and rejected, it takes two parties for that. Responsibility over two seasons, is in the court of Prescott Inc.
As to trading up, the ammo is already there for next season...
Aikman= YES, Romo = NO.If this was Aikman or Romo, would you pay him
