Look, dude, don't talk about an eye test. Then try to use stats to refute it. statistics is considered one of the 3 biggest lies for a reason. Don't try to tell someone stats is better than what they actually see. That is idiotic at best. But carry on.
You can't rely on eye test because it can still be biased. For example, some see a penalty while others don't.

The best way is to use stats and film. I say film because watching a play live you may missed something so being able to replay it a few times allows you to diagnose everything happening in the play. Also hard to know what that play was meant to do. Example, if a play calls for a receiver to run a slant but he runs a streak instead.........is the QB to blame if he threw that slant? "Eye test" for folks that dislike Dak would blame him and say he isn't accurate.

Comp pct: 44.4. Expected comp pct: 31. Difference: +13.4 percentage points.
TD-to-INT ratio: 6:2. Passer rating: 109.7.

Surprised? Cowboys fans might not be, but I'm sure plenty of you are. This will be an interesting exercise because plenty of those reading will be upset by Dak's No. 1 ranking. But look: This is what the numbers say. No one was better at exceeding passing expectations on deep balls in 2019 than Prescott.

The fine folks embedded in the Next Gen Stats bunker took the time to poke their heads above the blinking lights and buttons to tell me this metric was designed to best capture how well a quarterback is playing when also considering the surrounding circumstances. Even with their amount of talent, the Cowboys weren't a great team in 2019. Prescott's receiving corps relied mostly on Amari Cooper -- who was very efficient on deep targets, catching 12 passes for 386 yards and two touchdowns -- Michael Gallup and Randall Cobb, with a very rare contribution from Tavon Austin. First-round pick CeeDee Lamb should make life better for Prescott in 2020, and if he can continue to complete unlikely deep passes better than most, this Dallas offense might become reallyexplosive. But again, this is also about making the most of surrounding circumstances, and Prescott excelled in that department in 2019.

i usually shy away from these ever ongoing, persistent Dak threads but its a need to say as so long as i use my own Eye Ball Test,
so i don't need these NFL.com type stats to valid that Dak has improved and made a bigger impact as a deep ball passer.

He has displayed some very nice between the inches like sideline passes between his receiver and defender and the sideline.
Some passes that so reminiscent of Russell Wilson sensational tight inches passes
- although imo, Dak is not on Wilson's level in terms of consistency and frequency.

The button line is there was obvious rejuvenation with Dak in 2019 in the vertical pass game and overall accuracy and effectiveness.
There was the observation of pushing the ball down the field and gaining more splash plays.
that led to two 1,000 yd receivers and a slot guy with 55 catches and almost 900 yds.

Importantly Dak averaged an impressive 8.2 yds per attempt. This is certainly not dink n dunk mentality or schematics.
That's tied for 5th among QB starters in the NFL.

if it's any QB stats that i prefer to see it's the QB Ratings, TD to INT ratio and average yards per pass attempts,..and though it won't
show up in the NFL stat sheet with the throws, another huge factor in Dak's game improvement was his ability to get rid of the ball out of
his throwing hand. Far less likely to hold the ball and taking sacks.

Dak is a dang good QB. We are lucky to have him. He has the stats to prove it. Has he made mistakes... Well yes and plenty of them.

Me as A Cowboy fan want perfection. And I have watched him take sacks he didn’t need to. I watched him throw passes that misses open receivers. Passes that are a little off. But I have watched other top 10 QB’s do the same thing. I watched brady miss wide open WR twice in 1 game. It happens. Dak needs to get a little better and I think he will.

That has to be one of the worst lists I have ever seen. A 5th grader could probably come up with better than that.

so you dropped out in the 3rd grade?

how pathetic a fan are you that our qb is #1 and your pissed off? :lmao2::lmao::lmao::lmao2::yourock::oldcouple:

At the end of the day when you have as many metrics being posted that has Dak as a top 5-7 rated QB, you have to except the fact that Dak is a top QB in the league. All of these different metrics are looking at the data from different views yet coming to the same conclusion.

People who don't accept that are relying on emotions, the "eye test ", or false narrative exclamations, like win-loss ratios (team sport that relies on 11 offensive players, 11 defensive players, special teams and coaches to execute to be successful), or garbage time stats (every QB has garbage time stats, especially ones on bad teams yet they aren't accumalating these type of rankings), or stacked talent (most players' talent is predicated on cohesion with other players (see players who are stars with one team but not another, e.g. Amari Cooper).

The Cowboys front office sees this too, that's why they have a 4 year/$175MM contract on the table right now.
We have a winner!!!

The evidence Dak is somewhere between the 6th and 10th best quarterback is fairly compelling.

More compelling when you take into account his running and durability.

Football Outsiders have Dak 4th for QBR, 6th on Defense-adjusted Value Over Average.
