Dalton doesn't give the Cowboys the best chance to win. Dak does. It's just that simple.
Of course, that's obvious.

But then you have to get into the meat of the real questions. Will paying Dak as the highest player in the NFL keep us from the big dance?

They want the money put everywhere but the QB position. They think if we can put enough talent on this team the Cowboys could win a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer or any other QB. There’s fans cherry picking the few average QBs who’ve won Super Bowl’s over the decades thinking the Cowboys could do the same. There can’t be a more absurd fan base than this one.
Absolutely true. And the most absurd are the ones polarizing this argument and thinking this is a simple yes or no. Overpaying players can keep you from contending for years.

I'm torn myself. I like Dak and would prefer to keep him, but I'd prefer super bowls over overpaying him. It's a very very tough choice.

QBs are being overpaid today. If you’re going to overpay a player it has to be the QB because you can’t win without a real good one. Too many games get put on their shoulders. Most fans want to put all the money on other positions, thinking if you can build a great team the QB won’t matter. They think you can win with any QB if you put enough great players around them and they continue pointing to Dilfer and Brad Johnson as examples. First problem is we don’t have the defenses those QBs had to help carry an average QB.

Of course. However, we're still not sure if Dak is that guy. He might need too much around him to pay him huge money.

We’ve seen him for four seasons he needs what every good QB needs to be successful. I don’t care how good Mahomes is the Chiefs wouldn’t have won the Super Bowl if he didn’t have some great talent around him. Remove Tyreek Hill and a couple of other weapons from the Chiefs arsenal and let’s see how far they get. All the QBs that have won Super Bowl’s had some talent around them. What we need is a defense.

It doesn't. What you're clearly missing is salary implications. The poll didn't provide for that, so the choice is overpaying Dak or going w/ a mediocre vet. That is a very tough choice.

There is absolutely no need to berate those who don't agree w/ you. I think more of you than that.
Salary implications. What salary implications. Everyone talks about the salary cap oh Em Gee. It never means anything and it never will. Ever hear of restructure

You don't have a clue about Dalton. Brady and Brees both signed for around 25.
That's because they are 43 years old lol.

Disagree. It's all about money in this case, whether one tries to make it so or not. The poll is not valid if discussing even money. You'd have like 2 haters voting for Dalton, and that's it.
Not sure what you disagree with. The name of the poll is "who do you want starting" lol. If it said would I want Dak at 40 million or Dalton at 3-7 million? I'd understand. But it doesn't.

When he was getting 400k a year we weren't getting to the big dance either so its hard to say what will or won't keep us from the big dance .Surely can't be a contract.

I wish. We'd have already signed him if he was willing to play for that.
I don’t think price is the holdup
It’s years
I think he would sign a 4 yr 140 right now
He doesn’t want 5 years
But even what been reported on a 5 yr deal that’s 37 mil per year
