That is sort of where I stand. There is ZERO doubt in my mind Tony elevated his team. He made average (at best) receivers look great. Does Dak truly make our great players better? I'm not sure just yet.

Yup Dak falls apart without a true #1 Tony made Laurent Robinson and Patrick Crayton to name a couple of guys stars who signed big deals elsewhere

how about a thread showing all his gut wrenching, season killing picks in games where it was lose and go home for the season. that would be a walk down memory lane.
Feel free to put one together. Probably be pretty short. Let me help,

1st year, Seattle, we all know about that.

2nd year, Giants loss 21-17 he threw a pick in the endzone at the end of the game in desperation. Didn't help Crayton dropping a Probable TD and pulling up on his route on another in the endzone.

3rd year, Cowboys got pounded in Philly 44-6 missed playoffs, threw one pick. ran for his life. I'll give you that one, he didn't get much help, team had 4 fumbles.

4th year, Shutout Philly first round, lost to Vikings 34-3. 1 pick. Sacked 6 times.

5th year, 6-10 defense quits on Wade, Romo injured, our for year.

6th year, 8-8
7th year, 8-8
8th year, 8-8 Romo beat Skins to go 8-7 but ruptured disc. Orton losses to Philly in last game.

9th year, Beats Detroit in wild card round, no picks. 114 rating. Loses in GB, no picks 143 rating.
10th year, out with collarbone for year. 4-12
You know the rest of the story after that.

So that whole arguement about him isn't really accurate.

Your wish is my command...

Well, not every gut wrenching, season killing picks..but this should do. There used to be one on YouTube showing all of Romo's thrown picks between 2010 - 2013, and that one certainly was gut wrenching (around 9 minutes long). For some reason, it is no longer listed on YouTube. I guess too many Romo fans complained to YouTube? "Take it down or I will never come on to YouTube ever again!!!" :lmao:

Here's a Romo stat I always found interesting.

Romo never played in a game that Dallas was eliminated from playoff contention. He always played in a meaningful game.
Are you kidding me???

Did you forget about the back-to-back-to-back playoff contention elimination Week 17 games between the 2011 - 2013 seasons?

Unbelievable the lengths to what some people will go to cover up for Romo.

You completely misunderstood what he wrote. "Meaningful" means any game in which you start out as still alive in the playoff race. All three of the games you mentioned - the season finale of 2011-2013 - were by definition meaningful games, since the Cowboys were still alive in the playoff race when the games kicked off.

Examples of UN-meaningful games would be the last few games of the 2015 season (Dallas was already eliminated from playoff contention) or the 2017 season finale (Dallas had already been eliminated by Seattle the week prior.)

2013... lol. You continue to show your ignorance and fake fan status every day. Basic fan stuff you can’t even get right.

It’s football malpractice that the law firm of Garrett, Jones & Sons managed to waste Romo’s prime with nothing to show for it.

How many of those 8-8 seasons were we really a 5-11 team that Romo elevated to average?

I can easily think of at least 10 franchises where Romo would have been the best QB in team history. We’ve been very spoiled with QB play in Dallas.

This is an awfully biased post which excludes Romo’s part in these failures. Care to maybe include some of those or do you want me to take a stab at it to balance it out to be a little more accurate?

It's tough to keep carrying flawed 5-11 rosters to the playoffs. But he did it.
He didn’t carry 5-11 teams to the playoffs, he carried them to 8-8. The playoff teams of 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2014 were not 5-11 teams. Hell, the 2010 team did better without Romo than they did with him.

I forgot how well Romo controlled the trajectory of his passes. That was a big factor in some of the RAC yardage that a lot of his WRs got and why some of those TDs were actually TDs.
He also threw a ton of ducks. I forgot just how many wobbly passes he would chuck up there. The free NFL game pass helped remind me.

The most surprising thing about this montage is the reminder of how athletic Witten used to be. I became so accustomed to seeing him catch the ball and fall down at 7 yards that I forgot there we're times earlier in his career where we'd actually line him up as a wideout to create size mismatches against smaller corners.

Remember the other thread where I said " doesn't it get tiresome always defending Prescott" and you said tell the haters that.

Here you have a Romo thread where the post are positive until yourself and America's Cowboy jump in and start attacking Romo.

The next step will be the posters attacking you with negative Prescott post and the thread will go to **** just like every other thread.

It doesn't get tiresome for the Prescott supporters to wallow in the mud.
