Correct. That darn glitch.

Plus, Romo lacked that IT factor. ;)

I wouldn't say that.

The reason fans love Romo was because of the "it" factor.

From 2006 to 2015(Romo's starting career) Romo had the most 4th quarter comebacks.

Romo - 24
Peyton - 22
Ryan - 22
Eli - 21
Rivers - 20
Brady - 19
Brees - 18
Ben - 17
Stafford - 17
Rodgers - 9

That's what made Romo special. You always felt Dallas was in the game as long as you needed one score and he had the ball. Very similar feeling when Staubach(the original Captain Comeback)played. Just give him a chance.

This feeling is the "it" factor.

He didn’t carry 5-11 teams to the playoffs, he carried them to 8-8. The playoff teams of 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2014 were not 5-11 teams. Hell, the 2010 team did better without Romo than they did with him.
Historically horrible defenses. Scotch tape offensive lines. Jerry in full PT Barnum mode his whole career.

Yet.... Romo never played in a game good entire career when Dallas was eliminated from contention.

Truly amazing.

Team statistic, not a Romo one.

I know all of the over blown excuses to try and diminish the team at every turn to make Romo appear like he ever had a shot. Romo was part of the problem too. They tried to put too much on his shoulders and he couldn’t carry the load. As a matter of fact, it broke his back.

I agree.

I would add that Romo wasn't perfect. We all know that he made some bone-headed picks...but every top QB has done including the likes of Peyton and Brady except maybe Rodgers.

But the main difference imo between Prescott and Romo was that even after throwing an avoidable interception I still felt like Romo could help the team win the game. Conversely, when Prescott throws an avoidable pick I feel like the game is basically done if against a good team. That's not even a criticism because Prescott is generally far more careful with the football than Romo. But, when he throws a bad pick and we go down 10-0 or 14-zip then I think that's the game done as he doesn't have the capability to haul the team back with his arm.

As I've mentioned before imo Romo gave us a better chance of winning games whilst Prescott gives us a better chance of not losing games.

It's not a stat, but an oddity.

You would be hard pressed to find other players that this happened to.
My point stands. Romo wasn't playing by himself. The teams he played for missed the playoffs at the end of the season on more than one occasion. which should be considered eliminated from contention.

Was there another scheduled game after Dallas lost in week 17?

If the answer is no, then all regular season games were meaningful.

Not when you don't go into the postseason.

Romo was a regular season HOFer!

Yeah pretend that everyone can’t read exactly what you wrote. That pesky time limit in editing posts strikes again. Just because you close your eyes and live in a fantasy world, doesn’t mean everyone’s going there with you. You weren’t even a Cowboys fan in 2013, liar.
Now don’t forget to get that Dak twitter stat/video out by the end of the day.
WTH???

Got Alzheimers much? You're losing it.

I've been a member here since 2011, but I didn't post my first post until 3 years ago. Go look it up!

You clearly have me mistaken for someone else.....:facepalm::angry:

He carried the load, but the defense would give up 38. He never had the luxury of legitimate defense and running game outside of a year or two.

You act like the defense always gave up 38, and it was historically bad, and we had no offense line or running game for he majority and it’s not true. You take the worst that he played with and act as if it is the norm.

Every defense he played with from 2006-2009 was better than any defense Dak has played with yet you don’t allow that to be any excuse for him.

And I have already outlined the running game issue with you where I showed it was more of a lack of using the running game prior to 2014 than it was just a bad running game.

Somewhat agree about Romo, but he also had a bad habit of throwing game ending pick 6s or fumbling the game away. Dak doesn't do that. Dak actually has the IT factor as well. Stephen Jones said as much this past January 2020...

[Speaking about Prescott on 103.3 FM ESPN Friday, Stephen Jones made it clear (via Jon Machota of The Athletic) that Dallas wants to re-sign both Prescott and Amari Cooper (also a free agent) but that, “We’ve got to land the plane and it starts with Dak. He’s the leader of this team. He’s got the ‘it’ factor.”

Even more forcefully, Jones then threw cold water on any Brady-to-Dallas talk: “Not even a thought. We’re so, so all in on Dak. [Mike McCarthy] is so all in on Dak. He’s so convinced that [Dak’s] the guy that can help us win championships. He’s putting together a great staff to support him.”]

Like the Romo fans, right? I can play the same game. Have no problem being just as irrational. You might just want to put me ignore instead or stalking me.

Not stalking you.

Just correcting when you say something stupid. That just happens to be often.

Yeah I imagine Romo lovers don’t like what I have to say when I interrupt the fantasy world you live in. It’s OK Poindexter, you’ll survive.

Saying someone has "it" is different from showing it on the field and seeing it.

Answer this question. Take Romo's first four years of starting 06-09. Is he sitting a year later waiting to be signed or has he already been locked into a new contract?

Put in franchise QB in place of Romo's name, are they waiting for a new deal?

You guy's always say he will be signed, but why hasn't he? Answer that question.
