The successful PR players who have longevity are mostly those blessed with world-class speed and quickness. I don't think Lamb really belongs in that category. McCarthy is probably smart enough to realize that. If he's not, then Lamb would possibly be put at risk of serious injury. It's a risk that oftentimes proves foolhardy. Many teams elect to use their less valuable players for return duties.

I'll be interested to see what Big Mike decides to do. I think he'll choose to protect the Cowboys' investment. I would anticipate that the Dallas FO might possibly have a say in such a decision, also. In the past, the Cowboys have been inclined to protect their stars. I expect that to likely continue.

This isn't the Garrett led Cowboys any longer. His punt returners were basically players who would told to catch the ball, go down and protect the football at all costs. Fassell was brought in to add juice to the the unit and make it more of a weapon then being ultra conservative. Playing against his teams, opposing teams were fearful of giving up the big play, if Lamb is the team's best option, you use him!

I can see Lamb running a few back for TDs. Then taking a low hit and breaking his leg and his career he ruined..

Dion was a great return guy
Lamb is not in the same galaxy as dion
Very True. But my point was, to not put him back there for fear that he's too valuable to risk injury makes no sense.

If he was 3rd best at his position sure why not

No need to weaken your point by saying dumb things.

3rd best RB doesn't start.

Lamb is already better than Gallup without even stepping on the field.

If you would put Lamb out for kickoffs, thats fine, its your opinion.

I 100% would not and I would be willing to bet anything you want the Cowboys dont.

Dak has shown himself to be an effective runner. He is used to seeing a heavy rush. He might make a good pr, too. This is no more absurd than wanting lamb to be the guy.

I’m not concerned about injury at all
It’s football
If he was a great return guy I’d put him back there
He may end up being the best return guy and if so I’d use him
Right now he’s not

i'm all for it. (Lamb returning punts)
While it would tremendous luxury to have a stand alone/stand out dynamo ala Devin Hester, Dante Halll, Allen Rossum, Darren Sproles or Josh Cribbs,

even some of the respected HC's did not shy away from using star players as returners in the special teams
game. as we've seen guys like Julian Edelman, Antonio Brown, as well as past guys like
Deion Sanders, Desean Jackson,etc..

i'm only against it, if a lead star guy has recent history of injury..and Dez began having too many wheel injuries.

Playing scared is what gets you hurt.
Don't recall ever saying that Lamb was going to play scared and get hurt.

I wouldn't take the risk is all.Not really that hard to understand. Opinions vary.
