News: CeeDee Lamb as our PR?

Why? He hasn't panned out. If you really want him, he could be available. I think he will struggle to stay on the roster in Pittsburgh.
He hasn't really been given the opportunity but I'm not saying to sign him to be a top 3 receiver. He should be 4th-5th guy that is a threat in the punt return game.

That's the way the game goes.

It' s like saying, you don't want your EDGE Rushers to tackle too much as it can cause injuries.
Exactly, this thread is rather funny,, you put your best players in position to succeed, this is football, there is always going to be injury risk.
Dak needs all the help he can get, and field position is vital.
Expecting a limited QB, to drive 80 plus yards every possession is a losing proposition.

He did PR at Oklahoma. With good results. But i think the injury risk is high.
I say only use him at PR during desperate situations or at the playoffs. He is too valuable to have at PR all the time,

So all those against Lamb returning punts, because of the risk factor.
Even if he is out there on some returns but not all.

How many punts are actually in a game, unless your defense stops the opposing offense every series.
3 or 4 average? That is just a guess. Even if 6 chances at returns. Half are fair caught or out of bounds or in the end zone.
So how is this any different risking injury than a player lining up on say 25 offensive plays, probably more.

Why is it ok for all the Pollard to risk him on KR's since he is so vital as Zeke's back up?

Let's just put the last 2 guys on the roster out there for the not so ST's.

Situationally our best players should be returning punts.

I never understood why Dez didn’t get opportunities in big moments.

You could very well see this given DAL has 3 top flight WRs and wants to see a serious boost to ST after last year's trash showing.

I'm sure they will have multiple PR who are used situationally. CeeDee could be your big play guy when they punt from their own 35 or deeper. A 4th or 5th WR could swap in for fair catch duty.

imo, it's not at all the same. he's a first round draft pick as a wr and that is where his value lies. admittedly, if the game were a playoff game or championship, and he showed skills as a punt returner, the idea would be viable. but good punt returners take chances and are therefore subject to being injured. needless injuries aren't worth it. he'll get enough chances to be injured just being a wr. cooper got several last year. injuries ended the career of dez. tavon Austin suffered a horrific broken ankle injury the year before. I could go on. but don't see the need.

He has been given the opportunity. Every player on the roster who is attending meetings, practicing and on game days is provided an opportunity to shine. He hasn't. He has done little with his opportunities as a receiver or return guy. As I said, he is likely to get cut in Pittsburgh. Dallas did not hurt themselves when they parted ways with Switzer.
