He has an argument from a stats perspective but little to no post season success makes him non-HOF worthy IMO.

Probably only one HOF from Romo era on Cowboys. Witten. Don't count TO since wasn’t drafted by us and only played a couple seasons. Ware maybe not.

Overall compared to championship eras not enough talent Or defenses to accomplish more. History will reflect more accurately than the emotions currently attached.

I think Ware will get in, eventually.
Ware had 7 seasons in a row with 10+ sacks. Only 2 players had more in consecutive seasons in Reggie White with 10 and John Randle with 8.
Add in leading the league twice in sacks in 2008 and 2010, and is the 2nd fastest player to reach 100 sacks.

His performance in his lone superbowl was note worthy, with 5 tackles and 2 sacks.
He has played in 8 playoff games and had 7.5 sacks.
Top 10 in sacks all time, #8 at retirement.

Maybe another in Tyron Smith if you count 2011 as part of the Romo era.

I’m shocked how many people don’t think he should get in, glad to see there are some level headed fans around here. I’m assuming because its Friday, the Romosexuals are taking a 3 day weekend and haven’t seen this thread yet.

Sadly the HOF is based highly on the post season and this is where it hurts Romo.

Like I always say if Romo played for a real football organization he has an easy hall of fame career if not a superbowl win. Unfortunately the cowboys wasted his career and like someone else posted if it wasn't for him we would probably be a bottom tier team. Did he make boneheaded picks? YES however that was usually to try and overcome the Swiss cheese defense he had. He also won tons of games for us.

I blame Romo for keeping Garrett around for so long. If Garret didn't have Romo keeping him afloat he would have been done years ago

If he was a starter in New Orleans under Payton, he'd be looked at a lot differently. I'm not saying legendary like Brees, but I certainly believe Romo would have been great in Payton's system and there is a reason Sean wanted him.

Also, no, he won't get in. And I really don't care one way or another. He was a top 10 QB for nearly a decade with us and that is enough to win a Super Bowl with. If Manning and Flacco can get rings, a top 10 QB can as well. Takes a lot of talent and some luck to get though.

Just so sad how bad Garrett was and how Jerry ruined an entire decade and a half with that loser. Careers like Romo were destroyed. Romo could have been a Drew Brees success story.

We all knew Romo was doing what he did in spite of Garrett. This is more confirmation.
I've never heard anyone claim a 13 year career that resulted in a lot of fame and a lot of accomplishments and a boatload of money equates to a career that was "destroyed".

His career wasn't all it could have been - which happens to a lot of players - but that isn't the same as his career being "destroyed". Even without accomplishing all he would have liked, the man got a hell of a lot out of his career, and it's still paying off or him even in his career after playing football.

If we had a different GM and culture then we would have gotten to the SB a few times. We had the talent but the culture and HC ruined many players careers as far as HOF and SB rings. But they got paid well.

This is the Daily Troll by the Dak slobberers
We really can’t find any fake Dak propaganda stats on Twitter anymore, can we? Everyone on this forum knows Tony isn’t going to make the Hall of Fame, but yeah let’s have a bunch of brainless Dak slobberers blow off some steam against their strawman.

Yay! right on Q...

You're the one one who brought up a QB that this article is NOT about. You and your slobbering comments are obsessed with Prescott.
If anyone is trolling its you, no one else mentioned him. Just stop.

He speaks truth.

This is another thread to attack Romo. It's phrased like a compliment "HOF", but it's just a chance to rip Romo and anyone who thinks differently from the mob.

Nice try, but all Prescott supporters agendas have been exposed on previous threads.

He doesn’t have a ring and he wasn’t a top 5 QB of his era. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers and Big Ben should all be placed higher. You can argue he’s better than Ben maybe(I wouldn’t) but not the others. He doesn’t even have a MVP, he was never once considered “the best” at any point of his career.

There are hundreds of quality players that have their career limited due to circumstances out of their control. That’s part of the game and shouldn’t be an argument for the hall of fame.

If Garrett was that bad, Romo should’ve been in Jerry’s ear and not going to sporting events with Jason.
Bingo.

Just on football merits alone no. He had the talent and stats but not enough longevity for not winning a Super Bowl. But, if he stays in the booth for awhile, I can see him going in years down the line.

You use whatever word you want and I will use mine. It cant be stressed enough how bad Garrett was. It should never be forgotten.

Romo's career is basically known as a choke artist that couldn't win in big games that wont make the HOF. He had little to no playoff success at all when he could have had a Drew Brees type HOF career and championship.

I have no doubt Romo didn't picture that kind of a career for himself when he was dreaming of being an NFL QB.

Whooooooaaaaa, stop. Just stop. Ware is an easy HOFer. Might be a 1st balloter, depending on who else is on the ballot.

Why in the world would you say Ware might not be a HOFer? I mean, this is an easy vote. Don't tell me you fell for that fan crapp of bashing Ware?

There's only 2 QB's from this era who are no brainers, PManning and Brady. Brees should get in on numbers alone, and prolly Rodgers.

Those are truly the only 4 I give it to. If Eli actually gets in, that would truly debase the HOF. He was quite simply not great. He's a lot like Plunkett in that regard, but people were smarter about the NFL voting back then.
