Agents and the NFLPA don't factor it in.
Same way they don't factor in playing for Dallas means more in off-field revenue.
The only time we've seen it really factored in was Jaylon Smith and fans immediately turned on the guy making his brand far less valuable, lol.

A big reason it isn't factored it you can be traded and or cut.
Schedules change and where you play changes year over year.

Time value of money does not change and neither does the upfront bonus paid in the state with no income tax no matter whether you are traded or not-agents should be explaining this to the players but they are only looking at their(agents) bottom line

Spotrac has the deal at basically a play-to-pay situation in that all the money is in the form of roster bonuses. Is that real? If so, that's an absolute steal. It's damn near cap-neutral in 2 years.

Wow, Pat Mahomes is banking on Pat Mahomes. Gotta like that. How in the hell did they ever get him to agree to that?

If Dak wants to structure his contract the same, get it done. If you're telling me I can sign a guy on a play-to-pay basis, I'm doing it. This is unreal. How did his agent let him sign this?

Good move by the Chiefs. Mahomes won't bow out like the QB from Stanford did.

Yeah, I think we are all ready for some of that. This board is like the end of training camp these days. Everybody is ready to fight with everybody over anything. We all need to get back to playing so we can beat up on somebody else.
Everything and everyone is on edge. I’m going to start trying to lead by example. And not get pulled into the nasty

10 years 400 million is pretty team friendly unless it’s all guaranteed which is unlikely...more like half of it.

They can juggle that type of contract in so many ways, they will have talent forever.

My post clearly wasn't advocating Dak getting paid as much as Mahomes and if you think Mahomes deal doesn't effect the majority of QB deals, then I don't know what to say
I'm just saying that sometimes we and the owners and other fans need to take a step back and pay for talent not just because you're the next qb up.

at this point, it's the cost of doing business. fans and owners can sit back and decide non top 3 or top 5 or top 10 QBs should get paid 20 million or so and that's fine, just know you will perpetually be looking for a new QB for a long time.
