I'm hoping Martin's name doesnt get added to the list of talented players whose careers were wasted by Jerry during his Garrett experiment.

Ya know...all those years of waiting for him to learn on the job....then all those great accomplishments thereafter.

Sickening.

I have Zach Martin on my all-time Cowboys great list paired with Larry Allen. You'd be hard-pressed to top that duo on an NFL's all-time great list:flagwave:

I'll get blasted on this

Connor Williams has potential to be better in space, than Martin

Not many "sure things" in the NFL-- but Zack is about as dominant player at his position as you can find. Truly an elite cocktail of power, intelligence, technique, competitive will, and athletic ability as a RG. It is a joy to watch him play the game

Hey, don't limit the list of superlatives to five. Add "toughness". I love that story his rookie year when he had an ankle injury and as soon as the trainers told him he was going to the locker room to sit out, he said "I'm fine" and ran back out on the field. He played most of 2018 with injuries that would have kept most NFL OL on the sidelines also.

That's true, but its kind of like saying my wife is a better cook than Kate Upton. Williams is better than posters here give him credit for and will be a solid player, but Martin is going to the Hall of Fame.

Zack Martin is the GREATEST pick in the history of the Dallas Cowboys, that's right in history if you consider the circumstances on draft day and the results! Let's see who can figure out why.

Hopefully Martin will be 100% healthy. I dont think he has been healthy the past couple of seasons and just like Tyron Smith you would never know because they are incredible players.

Assuming that Martin continues his dominance for about another four seasons, the only duo that comes close is the old Houston Oilers with Mike Munchak and Bruce Mathews.

Interestingly, their careers did intersect for 11 seasons with both playing at guard for 6 seasons. Mathews started four out of five positions for at least 1 season. However left guard and center is where he played the most. Munchak stayed at right guard for his career. For ten of those seasons the quarterback was Warren Moon in Jerry Glanville's passing offense and then the "Run and Gun" offense run by Jack Pardee.

That was about 75% pass blocking which was a waste of talent on their O-line. They were 3-7 in the playoffs, never got to a conference championship once.

but but bit I was told Johnny Manziel was a sure fire hall of famer and Dallas should have selected him instead....Thank God Jerry was alone on that island!

I wonder exactly how much Garrett's extreme predictability hamstrung the running game, because this team ought to be able to run better than they have of late.

A lot. The Saints and Vikings games were just brutal. Doggedly throwing Zeke into the strength of their defense no matter how many times it failed.

Mr. "We Do What We Do" was an anchor weighing down the team. For years, no matter the talent on the team, I always felt that Garrett was an insurmountable handicap to winning a championship. This year, there's hope.

Jerry belittled his own son on the spot on that pick.
Gotta gamble, his point was.
What a crapfest, our team's owner.

McCarthy & co. need to get that quick RB screen back into the offense, every time we made it successful, we always saw Martin getting out
on blocks outside at the 2nd level to spring zeke for big open field runs.
The RB screen pass was a non-factor under Kellen moore. last year.
