Bad: It sucks that they didn't tell us ahead of time that they would not show anything.

Good: McCarthy in charge. This is not a Jerry type move. He has always tended to show too much with regards to giving things away to other teams.

Does it really matter?
Is there really such thing as "secrets' in the NFL, anymore?
They all run the same pass patterns.
They all run sweep left, sweep right, off tackle left off tackle right.
Basically, teams have seen it all.
It comes down to who executes better.....
.
Give what away?

Good : Not seeing anything leaves little for anyone to complain about
Bad : Not seeing anything allows people to complain about the team

I live in Jersey and yesterday the Giants had their Blue/White game. It was horribly produced and panned by all NY fans.

They also complained about not showing anything. And that maybe Judge didn't want to show anything to the rest of the league.

If these teams are keeping their cards close to the vest, good for them. That's what I would do.
Well the deal is , this is the only game like scrimmage they get, and with no preseason some coaches decided to run stuff they will be using
instead of the usual vanilla, and give their team some valuable reps, instead of entertaining the fans.

The reason they didnt say before hand, was so the network showing it could get good ratings .

yes I am aware of large companies having a marketing budget.

Not to be a jerk, but you made the comment " I am aware of large companies having a marketing budget". Yet you mention AA marketing, that's it's purpose. They (AA)) did not file for bankruptcy protection and DFW is the the largest hub for AA. They (AA) are probably contractually obligated with a sponsorship agreement and DFW is their largest hub in the U.S.

Edited: Just a conversation, not an argument.

Totally disappointed. Expected to see some football, but saw none. Did see every cowboy logo imaginable.

I know Jerry is the pro, but this seems like a marketing fail from PT Barnum.

I don't see how imprinting your logo on customers when they're really pissed off at you is good marketing.

Interest off a reserve account earmarked for marketing. Most large companies have them, approved by the board and shareholders for a sole purpose.

And? It's part of the economic stimulus relief to make sure people have jobs. Nothing to do with corporate marketing, those monies are separate. If At&T wants the rights to put their name on the stadium and broadcast DC events, it's probably in their sponsorship contract.

Michael Irvin and his broadcasting cohorts really put forth a frustrating commentary for disappointed fans to withstand. Here they were, all talking loudly, all at once, effectively drowning one another out, while laughing in the process. It was much to the dismay of so many Cowboys fans. This, instead of a sad, nonexistent "scrimmage" that was fraudulently promoted.

That is the only positive.

No question the football guys are running this team:

Ownership and executive management are football guys too, just with a different kind of responsibilities. We have a higher caliber of head coaching, coaching staff and more talented and committed players.

Credit ownership and management for finally waking up and going in a different direction and not banking continuity will eventually restore this team to greatness.
