DC talking heads on Cowboy's website seemed to be calling out Dak

Jesse Holly said , "If you want to get paid like Rogers, Mahomes, Wilson, Brees, ect....then you need to be spectacular on Sundays, not just "well he played ok". Holly said that when there is 45 seconds left on the clock and Rogers gets the ball down 4, the other team is terrified. There is a "belief he will get it done as opposed to a hope he will get it done". You do not have that with Dak.

Nick Eatman basically said Dak is not clutch, he doesnt bring the team back to win games and the stats prove it. In the Cowboys last 8 games decided by one score, the Cowboys are 1-7. Dak getting the ball back with a minuet or two and driving the team down the field for the winning score does not happen and he said he was actually getting concerned about it.

Spags, usually Mr. Sunshine, was surprisingly critical today as well. Mentioned the same 1-7 record and said they just cant win close games. He didnt really single out Dak specifically like the others, but you get what he was saying without actually saying it.

Now do I blame Dak for the loss? No, he played ok but he was not spectacular just like Holly said. Now like Eatman said, the stats do show that Dak does not win close games for whatever reason. Blame it on dropped passes, blame on poor protection, blame it on the refs with bad calls, blame it on whatever but the fact still remains the Cowboys have lost 7 of their last 8 games when the winning margin was within one score. Dak was the QB in all those games, so the question seems legit of "why cant he win close games, especially if you want to be one of the highest paid QBs in the league.

Well he did drive us down the field at the end of the first half, did he not?

He would have driven us down the field at the end of the second half if Gallup had kept his hands to himself, would he not have?

I love Dak, I am in the pay Dak club but even I have to admit I don’t trust him to win one score games. I am terrified of Russ and Rodgers when they have the ball in those situations. Cowherd stated that if Dak was a better quarterback then the Rams would have went for it in 4th and 1. After rewatching the game I agree. Dak better win this year (NFC Tiltle Game)or the Cowboys might turn the page on him. Good news is that 9-7 will win the NFC East this year. I look at the Saints game, Vikings game, and Eagles games. Dak could have won those games but did not. The Rams game was there for the taking and we lose again. Dak cost us that game.

I watched the show. It was pointed out that Dak made a very clutch throw at the end of the game and had 3 drops on 3rd down that would have continued scoring drives. Which of course Eatman had no response for but to slightly agree without admitting he was wrong.

It's driving down the field in the second half that makes for a win or loss, not the first half.

That's an excellent point about the Rams going for it on 4th and one if they were facing a Mahomes, Wilson, Rodgers etc.

The 3 drops on 3rd down. This happened.

The common theme that I keep reading in this group when it comes to Dak: it's always someone else's fault. Whether it is the coaching staff, defense, special teams, drops, offensive line, weather man.......it's never Dak's fault.

People simply are pointing out the fact that for some reason the Dak led Cowboys can't seem to win close games. To be able to have a dialogue as fans is a good thing without being called a Dak hater or Dak lover or whatever.

Most in the group want to see the Cowboys return to their Super Bowl years....bottom line. If Dak leads them to that place then so be it and if he can't then move on in the hopes of finding the right QB and team chemistry/talent to make that happen.

But on 3rd down there were 3 drops in this game. This is either true or its now. There is no need to over analyze a fact. Which you are doing and even refusing to acknowledge the fact.

Ok, that explains one game.....................what about losing the last 7 out of 8 one score games?

I think that was the point they were making...............this starting to become a trend, not a one off.

Yeah and Cowherd of all people made it. There is a reason we seem to run the ball on first down all the time. At least Zeke looked explosive.

So you acknowledge that this situation has nothing to do with last season?

This is not about a single game, the is about an overall trend of the Cowboys under Dak not being able to win close games.

So the discussion is why? Why do the Cowboys continue to lose close games over and over and over again?

I acknowledge a trend that is being carried over from last season.

Even Micky Spags of all people wrote an article "This Looked All Too Familiar", the Cowboys just cant win close games". And that is from the biggest homer of all time, even he sees the trend.

So you are referring to Dak's overall career in close games? If so then there is nothing to talk about because clearly Dak has performed well in these situations in his overall career.

So points in the first half don’t count towards a win? I must be confused, I thought the team with the mist accumulated points over 4 quarters of football won the game, are we only counting 4th quarter points now?

Huh, this rule change must have slipped by me.

I dont care what a writer that gets paid to enrage fans to get click says. The facts are all that matter.
