I would not really consider Smith, Thomas, George, Cunningham and Bledsoe former Cowboys.

well i mean technically, they played for the Cowboys. They may not have played the most glorious years as a Cowboy, but they are as much of a former Cowboy, as Emmitt is a former Cardinal.

I don't even consider Emmitt a former Cardinal but I guess.......to me I only see really 2 former Cowboys up there and I think Woody is the only one with a shot.

You take that back and wash your mouth out with soap.

Although all those guys played for Dallas, all but Woody and EW would go in as members of different teams. Maybe Herschel would go in as a Cowboy since he technically played longer here than anywhere else.

Glover - Saints
Smith - Jags
Thomas - Dolphins
George - Titans
Cunningham - Eagles
Bledsoe - Patriots

Walker and Glover spent only a short time in Dallas as well. Really only Williams and Woodson built their credentials in Dallas. The others just had stopovers, some very brief.

In the football HOF a player doesn't actually go in as a member of a particular team. The only reason they do in MLB is because the busts have a cap on, so it needs to depict a particular team.

But you are right that most of these players are more associated with other teams.

As for Herschel, I'm not sure he would even have a realistic chance without his USFL stats. Remember, it is the Pro Football HOF, not the NFL HOF

Glover played almost as many years here as he did with any other team (New Orleans five, Dallas four). Most of his Pro Bowl appearances and half of his All-Pro selections were while he was with us.

Walker spent more years with us than he did with any other team. He also was an original draft pick of the team, and his only Pro Bowl and All-Pro years were with us.

I think we have as good of a claim to both of those players as any other team ... although I consider Glover more of a Saint.
