So one game where he isn't great is considered a slump?

I do agree with your point. I think Dak is a great QB. I watch a lot of football and guys miss throws all the time that Dak hardly ever misses. I am also a firm believer that he elevates the play of those around him.

Not sure if I can call this a slump though
You lost me at Dak hardly ever misses.

I don't think he's lost it despite what it looks like lately. I think he's just in a slump, but he'll go back to old Prescott soon.

Here's what I think:espn: as you either have the talent or you don't and in Prescott's case he's a walking disaster waiting to happen!

Was it Dak's fault? Nope
Maybe if you showed how similar it was to the ending of the 2014 GB game about how a comeback wasn’t successful despite a certain throw being made, it might help people understand the QB did his job on that play despite what happened downfield.

You could even use the ending of the 2007 Giants playoff game.

That QB is given credit for making plays that didn’t count. Why isn’t Dak afforded the same?

It’s a significant slump.

Dak led the league his first 3 years in 4th qtr comebacks and hasn’t had one since. He was 0-8 last year and 0-1 this year.

I don’t love the game winning drive stat for this reason. If your qb plays poor for 3.5 quarters and the game is somehow kept close... then the qb gets the credit for the “comeback”.

If your quarterback played well enough those other three quarters then you wouldn’t have needed a 4th q drive.

now this isn’t always the case they’re are legit comebacks.... and they’re are shootouts. Just saying any stat can be skewed.

Anytime somebody just throws up a stat to prove a point...I ignore it. That stat needs context. YOu might be providing some perspective to this stat. What lead us to being in a tight game...and how exactly did we win them?

I do think the QB does get the credit...of course. As the offensive general. But then that means the QB needs to receive blame then too. And it seem therein lies the issue.

NFL Network just now said the Cowboys are 1-7 in one possession games since 2019. (I believe that;'s how they phrased it on the fast scrolling ticker)... 2nd worst record. I am positing this stat as a response to the OP. I believe it too provides some perspective.

This is why people sound stupid labeling Dak a choker, conveniently disregarding his first 3 years.

People are trying to combine GWD with 4thQC to get the number, the two are entirely different as someone posted above, Dak is alot lower on the list in 4thQC and has not had alot since his rookie season when he had 5, zero his 2nd season 3 his 3rd season and 0 last season

No BS OPI call and thats 15.

He's in his 5th year. That list is the first 4 years of a player's career so no it wouldn't. And if it was a list of first 3 years he would still be at 14.

It is what it is really. Clearly not all on him, but not a ringing endorsement either. The team just can't seem to come back and win when down in the 2nd half.

I have a decent amount of respect for Dak. When he was making those comebacks it wasn’t precisely because of him. Yes he made plays but so did others and the defense held up

I don’t think his recent failures are because of him solely either it’s a mixed bag

part of the demise can be attributed to the Oline not being as strong and don’t give me the number 1 pickbaloney they have regressed

part is because of the defense , part of it is receivers not making plays and lastly

Dak has missed plays when they are there to be made. Yes it may be after someone else misses on execution but that can’t always be an excuse

Dak must make plays when they are there to be made

I was hard on our previous QB and this is the same scenario Dak needs to step up his game starting today

and he must do it to everyone in all quarters

This team isn't good enough with all these injuries right now. They are going to be in a lot of close games. BS OPI, bad coaching, bad defense, are not going to win us many close games.

Even if the offense scores late, do we have the defense to stop the other team from driving down and scoring?

This team is fast becoming a total joke.

SO how would you explain 2019? I'm asking...not trying to trick you.

2019 was a bad year. That doesn't mean you get to ignore the bulk of what he has accomplished. Im not a big Dak homer either. Im just being fair.
