Just get some TO’s and I don’t really care. We had to drive the ball like 90 yards 3 times yesterday because of that punter.

Seems like every year we suck at getting turnovers, sacks and special teams.

Since 2011 we have been arguably the worst at game changing plays on defense and special teams. For example since 2012 we have a grand total of 20 return TDs (int, fumble, punt, kickoff) which is ranked 30th. To put that into perspective, KC has 45! They literally have had two more return TDs every single season for a decade. It has been offense or bust for the Cowboys and a lot of fans know nothing else hence the ridiculous anti-Dak threads.

The eyeball test tells me this is the worst defense I’ve ever seen the Cowboys put on a football field. If they aren’t willing to bring in Earl Thomas, I just don’t get why they cleared all that cap space with the those contracts we restructured. The defensive backs need a ton of help & and there’s an all world free safety just sitting at home.

You do realize, one of the reason the teams we faced are 3 of the top 6 scoring teams is because they faced our defense. :laugh: :(:banghead:

Agreed. Sadly, that is what we've been on defense for a long time now ... a team whose final numbers look better because of success against bad teams when it is unable to do enough to beat good ones. We have to be stellar on offense against the good ones because of our defense, and we weren't able to under Garrett and haven't been able to be under McCarthy so far.

There are three proven ways to get to and win Super Bowls:

Have an elite offense that overcomes a weak defense.

Have an elite defense that overcomes a weak offense

Have a balanced team where both the offense and defense are strong, but not necessarily elite.

We have a strong offense and weak defense.

How many teams with a weak defense have you seen win a SB?

Marino and Fouts led elite offenses for years and it still wasn't enough to overcome bad defense. The Cowboys have never won a SB without a top ten defense.

The Ravens won with Trent Dilfer, because defense. The Bucs won with Brad Johnson. The Broncos won with what was left of Peyton Manning - who flat out stunk at that point - because of their defense.

But weak defenses? I don't think so.

Great O's do not make up for bad D's in the playoffs.

This defense is like Big 12 defenses, just let the other team score as fast as you can so you can get the ball back:facepalm:
