I used to think, (until recently) That we were genuinely one or two players away from breaking even and going full throttle and all cylinders. All those 8-8 seasons with the putrid Clapper and the excuse we all know have lead to what we all know... "what if" "if only this, if only that" bla bla bla. Some good player's careers have ben wasted and well... I think that if we have any SLIM chance to fix this under Jerry and his putrid son (Even though the chances are slim) are if we TANK and make a total rebuild. I honestly see no other way. Our delusional Billionare and many fans still believe we are close to greatness. I think we are close to NOTHING. We need to have some serious, disastrous season or seasons for something drastic to happen.

Who agrees?

Jerry was floundering for over a decade before JG came along. If your plan is for Jerry & Son to "TANK and make a total rebuild" all I can say is good luck with that.

The same guys who built this mess are going to fix it? I may have been born at night but it wasn't last night. :muttley:

Anytime you go 13-3, 12-4, 11-5, 10-6 in recent memory and you fail to even touch a nfc championship game that’s embarrassing

you have teams that go 5-11, 7-9, 12-4 and then 3-13 and atleast cash in on that 12-4 season and hit a nfc championship

except these guys

*edit
the Jaguars aint sniffed the backend of the playoffs but atleast made a afc championship game and barring a comeback by the pats a superbowl

Theres a reason no other pro sports franchise is run the way this one is.

They will never understand or admit that.

Ah no way he ever tanks.

He figures it's a weak division and can sneak into the playoffs and some miracle will happen and they will win it all.

Funny how only the first part has happened recently.

It's a dumb line of thinking but I think you all can make the connection.

I would save Gallup, Lamb, Dak, Pollard, Biadasz, Martin and Diggs. Everyone else can either get traded or get dumped and I wouldn't bat an eye.

Problem i see is Jerry overpays players because he doesn’t want them to get away. He doesn’t want to see them succeed other places. He can’t stomach it.

When in reality these guys get better sometimes because the teams they go to have a winning culture.

It tells me Garrett held this mess of a franchise together from totally collapsing.

How do you go from a touted SB contender to scrapping the team in 4 games?

I think they do understand and get it but don’t care. This is how they want to run it and have maneuvered themselves brilliantly over the years financially to be able to do without being held accountable for the product on the field.

To still pummel JG after all this time is ... dumb and convenient.
Own our mistakes.

Hard to believe some here thought about the SB. It's hard to phathom.
It’s not just fans here who thought it. Our ownership and media hyped it as well. And many bought into it because they believed this team severely under achieved last year.

Maybe Garrett was better at taking the brundt of the blame then ppl gave him credit for. MM got to pick most 95% of his staff, he helped with the draft and free agent aquisitions so I'm not letting him off the hook.

Of course they did. The culture is toxic. Championship football is an after thought. It’s a vanity project.
Yep

When the GM cannot be fired for doing a bad jab, the lack of accountability trickles down through the entire organization. Sounds like an abstract thought but it's true in all corporations.
