I wanted to ask you specifically, did you get the feeling that the storyline for Beta was really compressed at the end? I couldn't help but feel that there was something bigger planned for him and they just wrapped it up quick and moved on.

Not that I didn't truly enjoy seeing him get what he deserved, along with all of the Whisperers, but it all felt so rushed. First they couldn't spot them in the horde and then - presto! - they know where each and every one of them are, so much so that they can save the 7-footer (that they couldn't find forever) for last.

It reminded me of the way that the ending of GOT was rushed and anticlimactic. All of this time they were built up to be a huge threat, but the threat is totally eliminated without much time or effort.

But the ending was good and we've been thrust into the last arc of the show.

Amen to that. I was expecting another lengthy brawl between Daryl & Beta. That lengthy brawl lasted about as long as a high schooler on prom night.

It looked so dang close that you can't but wonder if they legit copied the scene. It had the same feel and everything.

It shows me a clear flaw in the writing, and an obvious drop in quality. And worst of all, it's become a pattern. A tired, predictable, boring, disappointing, pattern. And in my opinion, the biggest reason for why they're pulling the plug. They just don't have the creative people in place to continue.

Alright! I'm all caught up. I got a little bored with TWD and let a few seasons slip by me. I decided I should catch up, as I feel dedicated enough to the show that I want to finish it, and I'm glad I did. For me, the show really picked up again. Season 09 and 10 were great. And whoa!! Who are the people at the end of Season 10? Space force? haha

Absolutely agree!! I was expecting an epic "boss fight" scene toward the end of the season, and then, it was just over in like 30 seconds. Definitely a bit of a disappointment in an otherwise great season.

Just to wax a little philosophical about "The Walking Dead"...

The first episode, which set the stage for the series was "cinematic" meaning it was filmed like you would a movie. Frank Darabont did an amazing job. There were several sequences when no one spoke. You could tell a true expert did it.

The other thing that set the first couple episodes apart was a certain amount of empathy for the zombies themselves. The sequence where Rick says to the zombiefied woman crawling in the park, "I'm sorry this happened to you" is for me one of the most powerful sequences in the entire series.

I am a little curious about Rick. He didn't exactly "die" off the show. I wonder if he will make an appearance in the last season? Also, never thought I would say this, but Negan really grew on me. Started to feel bad for the guy there for awhile. He was trying to change and be involved with the group and everybody kept closing him out. I mean, I get it, his history isn't exactly great but he was indeed trying to change. I feel like Judith kind of cracked him.

I would not be shocked to see both Rick and Michonne show up at the conclusion of the last season for the show (season 11). As far as I know the "Rick movies" are still going forward.

Negan was looked upon more favorably in the graphic novel as time went by, but the TV show Negan is way beyond that (other than the return Maggie) now and will likely keep moving forward.

The reason why is because the TV show has lost two of the three most dominant male characters– Rick & Carl and desperately needed another strong male character (other than Daryl).

Credit should be given to Jeffery Dean Morgan's acting ability. Even as a total baddy, he's charismatic. I can't imagine the TV show jettisoning him at this point... But stranger things have happened.

The writer's probably screwed up knocking off both Glenn and Abraham in the "circle of death" episode... Certainly made it more graphic than what many could stand, which affected viewership numbers.

But I think they also may have messed up making the Savior arc as long as they did and making the Negan character a little more "cartoonish" than what they should have. The graphic novel Negan was portrayed in a more straight-forward bad-guy approach.
