Trade at what position helps us the most today

What position do you guys think that would help us the most on defense,

Safety?
Corner?
DT?
Linebacker?

Weigh in and share your thoughts. I think a case can be made for each.

I am curious if we can poach a guy off of another team’s practice squad to fill the void at safety.

I'd say DT first, then safety. No poaching of either, as I think we need quality players at both positions.

OT by a mile. We have two UDFA's at OT and we are one hit away from a rookie 7th round pick at QB

This is Just not accurate. Our defense is horrible because the defensive players are horrible. Adding Better players , even if they are average ones, would help the defense.

Safety 1st!!!

If they can get a SS to fit with some pop vs the run and be average vs the pass that would be a solid pickup. Helps vs run and pass.

DT only helps vs run.
LB is starting to get healthy again.
CB Chido will be back and AB is back.

They've already acquired the Safety Parker and he played 35% of the snaps vs NYG.

They had already benched the worst player on defense, Safety D.Thompson and replaced him with D.Wilson who has been OK.

CB Brown returned last week and Awuzie is expected to return at some point. Hargraves in Houston is on a minimum type contract and has started all games this season. Would they take a conditional 7th for him?

LVE is returning and Lee will return.

They need to trade for 11 run stuffing DTs and start all 11 together...

we are not trading for anybody.nothing Stephen jones has done in FA leads me to believe he has an clue or even cares about this team.

The problems in pass coverage have primarily been a result of Safeties cheating up against the run and being completely out of position when it turned out to be a pass.

This defense was designed with the idea of stopping the run with the front 7 which frees up the Safeties for better pass coverage.

They need multiple run stuffing DTs. It does not matter if they can rush the passer.

They won't have 1 run stuffing DT come in, let alone 2. Nolan is already creeping Ss closer to the LOS...get a guy who can handle a RB solo. That front 7 take care of the run while Ss stay back philosophy is not a fit for 2020 Cowboys.

Yes, they've started playing much more single-high instead of Nolan's preferred 2-deep.

A coordinator would help the most. If Nolan scaled the defense back it would go a long way in my opinion.

Adding enough players to help is gonna be very, very hard
We need 4-5 players to fix this
You can’t trade for that many good players now

None.

Why are we trying to go through this vicious cycle of:

Ignoring blatant needs during the offseason
Sacrificing future resources while the team is currently bottoming out
Being limited in ability to improve in the future, and having to ignore blatant needs during the offseason

This is like trying to study for a midterm after having skipped every class along the way. Believe me, I've done that and the outcomes weren't great. They weren't horrific and I passed, but just getting by shouldn't be a personal or franchise goal.

Until communication issues on defense are fixed I can't see any player helping that needs time to digest the system itself. Maybe a DT could help, but rather just save the picks and give Gallimore a shot.

Safety is definitely a need
