TBF, very few people follow Bengals rosters. They had AJ Green, Housh and Ochocinco at various points of Dalton’s career but he never had a well rounded offense like Dallas has.

The offensive line has to hold up for AD to have success, but his weapons are better than anything he ever had in Cincy.

They never had AJ Green, Housh and Ochocinco during Daltons career. The latter two left the Bengals before Dalton came into the league. Dalton was working with near to nothing. There was only 2 years where you could argue that he's had weapons and that was 2013 and 2015. He went 11-5 (3rd in TDs and 7th in yards in 2013) and 10-2 (had the highest passer rating in the league before he got hurt in 2015) in those years. 2014 his #1 and 2 receivers were hurt and his #1 TE. 2016 a lot of his team left in FA. 2011 and 2012 he just had a new AJ Green.

Dalton never had a running game either. I don't see a year where the Bengals even were in the top half of the league in YPC.

Since I can't make my own thread here's a little fun fact about Andy Dalton. He's way more clutch than you think. He has 28 games in his career so far where he's came from behind to win the game.

28 comeback wins shows he doesnt choke when the pressure is on. It shows hes a lot more clutch than what people give him credit for. Dalton will do well for this team, so you don't need to worry about him.

The defense is what is limiting the team this season... not QB.

Andy should be fine. The defense, not so much.

Dalton had a couple good teams in Cincy. The rest of the time he was working with trash. He looked pretty good last week.
Andy Dalton looked good other than the dropped INT that he threw right at the Giants DB that should have been a pick-6 and game ender...and this underthrown ball that Michael Gallup had to bend backwards and contort to make a miraculous catch for the game winner while getting his lower legs dangerously dived into from behind.

It so true, the QB play was already good if Andy keeps it anywhere close he is more than doing his job...sadly it already wasn't enough. But here hoping Dalton can make the defense and special teams play better, I'm all for not seeing the Cards hang 50 on us tonight.

He absolutely did have a well rounded offense.

He had Green his entire career, and Marvin Jones or Sanu were his #2 WRs for almost the entirety of his career until the end of his Bengals tenure, even having all three of them for one season. . He played with a 1st round TE his entire career, as well as playing with HOF OL like Whitworth and Zietler taking up two of the starting OL positions for the majority of his career.

He never played with Housh, nor Ocho not one game lol. Your earlier post was easy to spot someone who wasn't in tune with the subject, and this post confirmed it even further.

Hopefully I cleared some things up for you. He always had talent around him on those rosters.

Marvin Jones basically only played 2 years with Dalton. Sanu was around for a while, but he never really tore it up. Eifert constantly gets hurt and only really had 2 full seasons too. All of those guys only played 1 full season together and that was 2015 when Dalton was leading the league in passer rating.

All I care about is tonight. Just win, somehow.

The Cards have the best pass defense we've played, by far, since the Rams.

We scored 17 points in a loss vs the Rams
Our QB stats vs the Rams were serviceable vs a good D
266 yards, 1 TD, 0 int, 92 rating...so about 20th in the league on average

Dalton will need to do better than that because our D isn't holding these guys to 20 points

Andy Dalton's career primetime stats including playoffs.

26 games

6.39 YPA

28 TDs

21 INTs

547/890

61.5%

5694 YDs

80.6 QBR

I want to believe so bad....till then:facepalm:

All Hail DiNucci!

Dude played for the Bengals. The best you get as a Bengal is a Thursday night game against a much better team so that people might actually watch. That's probably like 19 games getting swarmed by Steeler defenders.

Not taking anything away from Andy, Question...after the first 5 games, you don't think the Cards are a better team that will swarm this O-line tonight? the only thing we have really done better than them is passing..not by miles though...and they Blitz ALOT, our O-line is dead last in pass protection win% this year.....I really do hope against facts we turn this around tonight. But lets not act like Dalton just got the keys to some well oiled machine, this could be brutal.

And you didn't even mention DeAndre Hopkins against this secondary. Even if they double him, he's a mismatch. And will leave others open. This keystone cops secondary will have it's hands full tonight.

Combine this with Murray's running ability, and combined with their running game in general, and this could get real ugly.

Yeah that side of the ball is in real trouble barring a miracle turn around...but hey we will just use ball control offense now.....Why didn't anyone think of this before game 6?????

i am glad someone here posted the real andy daltons stats that matter. his history does not look good right now. do not bash me because some may think i am a huge prescott fan because i am not. i do not believe that prescott is worth 40 million a year. this is the best offensive talent he has had in his career so i hope he turns it around and plays well. he only played three series last week. i am not going to say that he will not lead this team to the playoffs but i hope he does.

AllI know is that I expect the Dak haters to hold Dalton to the same expectations they put on Dak. If he throws a pass 3 inches behind a receiver we should expect the same criticism they threw at Dak.

My expectations are always based on cost.

So $40 million gets you 3" off and a complaint.
Thus, $5 million gets you 24" off and a complaint
