Is there any way the team doesn’t go CB and S with first 2 picks

Unless they get a top 5 pick and are in line to get Parsons from Penn State, it seems almost a lock that the first two picks will be a CB and then a S.

I guess Awuzie could come back and ball out, which would put the team in an interesting position to maybe resign him, but there don’t appear to be any Chase Young style DEs or big time DTs like the last 2 drafts. I haven’t seen many safeties on top 30 big boards at all.

CB likely pick some place between 8-18. Then they trade one of their comps along with their second to move up to make sure they get their guy.

Gregory Rousseau DE Miami looks like a top 10 talent.

Other than him, this does seem to be a weak year for DL. Just our luck.

This is what I said. I think we sign Earl Thomas and draft a guy round 2. And were drafting a cb round 1. Basically a whole new secondary.

If they wanted Earl they could get him now. I think he’s been blackballed across the league

Unless Chido doesn't come back, CB isn't really a need as much as DT, LB and S. You could probably even make a case for OL being more of a need.

Chido-Diggs-Brown is a fine top 3 corners.

Why get him when he has legal issues looming and family issues at this point? We may not get him but id bet alot of money that he's getting signed somewhere next offseason.

I totally agree and Safety then might be most pressing. Too many seasons where Cowboys draft corner or address corner in offseason but Safety has been brutally neglected. A great safety could help these corners really thrive!

How long has Thomas been available? MONTHS.

How long do we have to hear the "get Earl Thomas" or "Cowboys need Earl Thomas" or "Cowboys are going to sign Earl Thomas" stories?

NOT HAPPENING. Cowboys have had talks, visits and countless opportunities to get him IF THEY WANTED HIM.

And they haven't.

Give it up, folks.

Hey I'm just saying he'll be in the league next year guaranteed.

We need to sign FAs. No rookies are coming in doing anything this year.
That's what we hear every year as we draft WR's and CB's and injured LB's, and then lose because we lose the battle up front. It's OK for fans to want CB's every year w/ our first pick, but our GM seeing it that way is what's kept us mediocre.

Fine, but you said "This is what I said. I think we sign Earl Thomas and draft a guy round 2. And were drafting a cb round 1. Basically a whole new secondary."

I said sign FAs not neglect the position.

You can always do both. However this isnt looking like a great draft at all for DL, so taking one in the first may not fix anything at all
