What if we lose to Washington?

I'm just happy to be watching the Pokes on the field. Seeing that star is enough. We'll get 'em next year.

Is this the defining moment of the season? Do we start the fire sale of players? Who will be to blame? Will Jerry fire McCarthy like he did Wade Phillips?

Things have been bad....And I just can't see how anyone can keep the statues quo if we lose. Is it rock bottom?

Comments?
The absolute worst thing that could happen is the Cowboys win this game. It will just prolong the misery and this team will never rebuild. They will continue to patch patch and patch holes. Sooner or later the wall needs to be stripped and redone otherwise it will always look like crap with all the hole patching.
This team needs to lose and they will lose! This is gonna be a payback game for the Cowboys running the score up on the skins the last few times. Their dline is going to over whelm this oline and Zeke wont be able to run and Dalton will probably get sacked 7 times.

If we lose to Washington, the NFC East is so rotten that our season is still worth playing.

In any other year, 2-5 would mean it's time to count down until the draft in April. But this year 2-5 is still a legit division contender.
Ok the NFC East is putrid, but what exactly is the point of winning?
So that we can all have a feel good moment about this team making the playoffs?
I for one will not be dusting off the cowboys cap or jerseys in celebration or pride in wearing the colors.

This year is a write-off treat it as such, let some of these young guys get experience and play for draft positioning and preparing for next year.

Seriously, any team winning this division is one and done in the playoffs... why bother?

This might seem crazy, but I would have tried to entice Eli Manning to come out of retirement to play and help save the season. Andy Dalton is good enough to help win a game or two but not the whole season.

You’re right. It does seem crazy.

Washington’s defense is a bad matchup for us in strengths/weaknesses and also we don’t play defense. So I’m not even sure how we’re favorites here.

Two wins we had needed two miracle plays to end the game. We’re arguably worse than Washington

Yup. Don’t see how the same offense from last week scores more than 10

Season has already been defined, its over. Now its just a race for draft position. I will be cheering for the Commanders today as I was cheering for the Eagles last week and the Cardinals. Sadly, that is what this has come to. In fantasy I have picked up the Washington D to help me get through the game.

Good idea if you want us to go winless for the rest of the season. Eli was done last season. I am for giving The Nucci a shot. I mean with all this offensive talent covering for Dak Trashscott, the 7th round pick might be rookie of the year.

Whether the Cowboys win or lose isn't really the issue. The issue is, how best do we position ourselves for next year.

Winning could give the Jones boys a false sense of hope, leading them, possibly, to make really dumb roster moves involving future draft picks. And losing? Who knows, but I can guarantee the Joneses will bungle that going into the offseason as well.

the problem is with nucci he’s going to have so little time to throw that he won’t get a fair shot to develop..then sacks and turnovers will come, he will get happy feet and it’s over.

mid our oline was intact I think it would be different

Because he is washed up and sucked for the last several years of his career. Dalton even has a higher regular season win percentage and is already under contract. Why would we want to spend more money for a QB who won’t get better results?

We'll need the 1st or 2nd Draft pick. With Dalton starting being in the top 3 is highly likely.

Neither Lawrence nor Fields will fall.

Are you willing to risk future draft capital if either falls?

The Cowboys will not be drafting a QB in the first round. They could have the first pick and it still isn't happening. They'd trade the pick. These idiots actually prefer Prescott.

Never underestimate the stupidity of this front office.

Wade was in his 4th season when Jerry fired him after a 1-7 start. Jerry also had Phillips’ previously anointed “head-coach-in-waiting” replacement (Garrett) on the team, whereas Kellen Moore is nowhere near ready to be a HC, even an interim one.

Jerry’s not gonna fire MM after one season — especially not the 2020 season.
Are we waiting for Kellen Moore to become the HC?

I too prefer Prescott but if you add the chance to get Lawrence or Fields coupled with Dak's injury, the Cowboys would be foolish pass on either.

It's a win win if we draft either. Dak tanks we go with rookie. If Dak succeeds we seek to trade either for best deal.

I think all Cowboys would agree

it is not stupidity it is a choice

Jerry prefers someone who may not be good enough to win a SB but will keep him in contention and be a company man

in these 2 characteristics Dak is no different than Romo

Our Oline is getting valuable experience. We have our future center. Both Connors are adequate.
Steele will allow two sacks and under ten pressures. Cam Watch out Irving ?
Defense is embarrassed plays better.
We arent play off worthy. Do we have pride

Long term it would probably be the best thing could happen to the team.. Short term it would frustrate people and demands for players to be cut and coaches to be fired will continue.
