I was skeptical of the McCarthy hire and he's done nothing to change my mind. Some folks were so giddy to see anyone but Garrett that they didn't consider the possibility that Jerry would actually hire someone worse.

Don't tell me about his SB ring. A lot of coaches could've won with Aaron Rodgers that season. That the team got worse after that - even with Rodgers - speaks volumes about McCarthy. What they've done since he left slams the door.

they started multiple drives there.....punt the ball and keep momentum your defense had got an interception and 2 big stops

All weighted out The probability of a positive expected outcome for going for it on 4th down from that position on the field is going to be 0. no way to justify that call, none at all, aside from some type of medical situation or momentary mental collapse. makes me wonder about the "tank option" being at least part of the equation of a call like that.
