Fake punt was a solid call

It was perfectly played by Moreland. Our gunner didn’t sell the fake at all and he immediately crashed in. Had Moreland bailed the play likely not picking up the first would’ve looked more competent than it did. Moreland read the fake the entire time. That’s good coaching to have them aware of the fake

Seemed like Wilson was intent upon being a hero and running his way to glory, despite Washington's defense being set up to watch for it. Man, that was an ugly, awkward attempt to look like anything but inept. The keystone cops couldn't have botched it more comedically. 'Twas hard on the eyes.

It’s been reiterated and regurgitated enough the entire staff should know. You’re paying the 4th overall pick, $90 million dollars.

On 3rd and 1 you run it. If they stop you cool.

On 4th and 1 you run it again. If they stop you twice, they deserve the ball back.

Double reverse to the smallest guy on the offense? Pass on 4th and 1 on a curl? At least run a drag.

The coaching staff is being incompetent. It’s like at times they want to be a power offense and then change it at the worst time. Then after the pick on their 4, we decide we want to get super creative and overthink.

Maybe the coaches don't have confidence in the OL to pull zeke to get the 1 needed yard? Terrible game plan and it showed. Frustrating to have built a power run team and not use it.

Washington was well prepared, especially defensively. They had our number this year.

Our offensive line was more offensive to us, as fans, than it was to Washington. Maybe that's what occurred to MM and Moore when they both seemed to lose any trust in our running game. Of course, the Washington defensive front was pretty dominant and likely discouraged bravado on our part to run on them. Losing both tackles so early in the 1st quarter did nothing to encourage plentiful running attempts. A sad day for us, indeed. Suckage, galore! Our OL is merely a shell of what it was a few years back. Our needs are many, especially so, on defense. :(

Well one of Zeke's few strengths is his ability to get a few yards if the coaches aren't even willing to try that then he shouldn't even be on the field.

MM and Kellen lost faith completely in our OL and also Zeke, especially after that fumble. The play calling was as pathetic as the entire team's focus. Maybe the absence of practice hurt some but that's hardly an excuse. Maybe another win just wasn't in our wheelhouse! We had no focus, at all. Maybe our injuries took the starch out of everyone -- it sure seemed to.

i'm all for aggressiveness and trying to win.
but not there.
4pt game.
we had momentum on our side.
Jaylon's int had given our defense a boost of confidence.
4th and short?
maybe....ok.....makeable.
4th and 10!.....and its a reverse...not a throw?
dont like.
dont like now.
didnt like it then.
didnt like it when i got drunk on a turkey leg and another piece of pecan pie.
bad call.

Not a solid call even if it worked.
Exactly
Many judge decisions on results
Down by 4 at a spot on the field that almost guaranteed points for the skins if it doesn’t work was a stupid decision
Even if it had worked

The QB sneak would have been the ideal call. This is absolutely the most underutilized play in football. The Cowboys rarely use it & it's a mystery.

It should be just about an automatic call in this situation. This is not just opinion, the numbers back it up. It is, statistically, the most successful play in football when used for one yard or less.
A QB sneak on 4th and 10?
The fake punt was 4th and 10

It was probably the dumbest call in the history of football. All levels. McCarthy topped icing his own kicker with a reverse fake punt run on 4th and 10 from his own 24 yard line. down by 4 with 12 and half minutes left. Then proceeded to get demolished because of it.
