Jerrah has won it all under Jimster before.

So that is' his sports model he follows.

It's also the financial model he uses to achieve his monetary success.

The only reason Garrett stayed for so long was because he was a friend with his hired employer which made Jerrah stick with him.

It was also a memory from the Aikman years he wanted around.

Then there was the Jerrah and Romo romance and now the Jerrah and McCarthy and Jerrah and Prescott one.

It gets very complicated quickly from there.

So since we know Jerrah is COB (Chairman Of the Board ) for life..

good luck to all the fans who will never understand Mr. Jones.

It's not. Jerry goes opposite of the sports model w/ Jimmy.

Sometimes, some days.....you catch lightning in a bottle. That is what Jerry and Jimmy had in the early nineties....everything aligned for success. But as it happens so often, jealousy, greed, ego, stubborness, creep in and screws up the soup. Instant success made Jerry feel like it was that easy to achieve and therefore his infamous "i can find 500 coaches who could win a SB with the Cowboys". He has tried to repeat the recipe, but as we have come to find the hard way....he is a complete failure in that department. With all that money stuffed in his pockets, i really hope this is what keeps him up at night. The even more stupid thing is he still holds a grudge for the man who gave him his three rings.

What is it that keeps Jerry from seeing what most of the other billionaire owners see? I understand such colossal failure if he was a cheap SOB and didn't want to spend money, but that is far from the case here. Glad he chose to be an NFL GM as his fantasy rather than a commercial pilot or surgeon.

Ego and money. He’s raking in more money than ANY other owner in any other sport, throughout history. Why not indulge your wildest fantasies if they’re extremely lucrative? He wants to be the man responsible for returning to glory, and has the luxury of making billions while trying.

IDK, some people would have a problem being widely considered a blithering idiot. Being thought of as the biggest moron in professional sports. Being thought of as a childish fool. I thing there are many reasons why not.

Sure. I’d imagine many many more would be fine with it for billions of dollars. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

but it’s not about “some people” anyway. It’s about Jerry

Yeah, I didn't bring that up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that is completely nuts. I disagree, I think most would want to succeed in football as the owner of the team. And since most owners hire GM's and let them do the football stuff, it looks to me as if those many many more would NOT be fine w/ it.

i eschew kicking a man when he's down. i actually felt empathy for poor jerry after seeing that picture of jerry. i'd love to know what he was thinking at that moment. but i agree with everyone who says he brought it all on himself because of his overbearing ego. he's not a bad person. just a horrible gm. i doubt it was a happy thanksgiving en la casa de jerry.

It must be an embarrassment when your wasted and overpaid 4th round pick is essentially useless at this point. Zeke has no redeeming qualities. The only quality he had was that he was a top 5 back in the first 3 seasons...He is not a top 10 back anymore...

This is what an NFL owner serving as GM looks like- failure. I hope he’s looking down at a mirror.

Lets be somewhat respectful,, Jerry looking down upon a very old pic of his dear RIP BFF Al Davis.
Pulled it out of his wallet while tipping the cute young lady that brought his next round of ole blue.

In his defense, most of us on the CZ think we're a better GM than Jerry. So, if you owned the team, wouldn't you want to run it. He's not a tech nerd, he actually played the game and thinks he does a good job. I guarantee that if I owned the team, I'd be running it too.

Some expert in psychology needs to write a book about the psychological reasons why a multi-billionaire is so incredibly insecure that he cannot allow anyone besides himself to get “credit” for any on field accomplishments.

And it’s that insecurity that drives him, even at 78, to continue riding the dead horse that he is a bonafide NFL football man. He’s not. And never will be. It’s pathetic really.

I know I’m not capable of being a successful NFL GM. I’m not qualified. And neither is Jerry or Stephen. They both qualified for the jobs the night Jerry’s check to buy the team cleared the bank. Let’s be honest- there isn’t a team in this league that would hire Jerry or Stephen as a GM. None.

If I owned this team, my first move would be to hire a highly qualified GM, let him hire his head coach, then hold them both accountable for results. That’s what the winning owners of the last 24 SBs have done.

I am definitely strange!!!!!!!!!!!

You brought up how you think people would want to indulge their wildest fantasies by playing GM. I disagreed that people would want that, and judging from the fact that it's rare that a rich team owner insists on playing GM, I disagree completely that playing GM is what most would want. I think it's the opposite, I think most would not be so foolish to believe they could do a better job than the experts in that field, or any field. They might want to be involved in some way, sure, but not be the person responsible for personnel at every level.

You are in the minority, then. There's only a few rare instances where the team owner insisted on being GM.

It would not take much to be a better GM than Jerry. He is historically bad.
